Thanks for that Chris, I did have that same footage but lost it, so I’ve got it saved safely now. I’m not sure how easy it will be for my sign writer mate to remove the slightly oversized numbers and resize them now we have a better idea from the footage. It costs me a pint of draught guinness a go! I’ll bash on with reinstating the chrome. The reg numbers are on the way. Do you have the same model(s)?

Stewart
I originally made them both onto the old Dinky model, but then updated them when the Lansdowne came out.
Depending what paint your man used for the door number try Autosol metal polish available in Halfords.
If they have only just been painted, the paint might still be soft enough to remove with enamel thinners. But take great car not to take the main colour off.

I saw this in Martin's collection recently and immediately went on the hunt for it and broke my "no pre-1950 models in the collection" rule. I've now stretched that to "post war" only to accomodate this but its going to end up costing me a pretty fortune as some of gaps I need to plug for the early post war years in the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio are not going to be cheap to fill.... That Alfa is lovely, I would love to have one as well. And remember, rules are meant to be broken!

Great add! Pre-WWII Alfas are a slippery slope! Here is a 6C 2300B Berlinetta Touring from the 1937 MM.
