For the first time in months, I have a new Tabletop Village diorama. It is centered around a 1950sish car dealership building (Fury Motors) from Menards that I bought earlier this year. The model year is 1963 and the setting is The Netherlands. Later I switched to a South African setting as both countries offered a range of North American, British and German models in the early 1960s. Now comes the switch to South Africa. All I did is switch the streets from LHD to RHD and modified (narrowed) the model range slightly. I don't know if there is Fall (I mean Spring) foliage in South Africa...maybe up in Johannesburg. Great job! It could have been Mexico too because during the early 60s we had lots of American and some British and German Fords!

Finally, a new diorama. Inspired by the Olympus Rally that starts in Shelton, WA every April. But of course, in Tabletop Village, all of the cars are Fords. That's the sort of event that I would turn up to! Just make sure that 50ft woman doesn't trample any of these fine Ford motorsport vehicles .

Very nice rally Fords, I have a few of those. I like the train too. My friend who sold me my 1959 Anglia has a pre-production 105E with that EV registration, it might even be the same car. It needs restoring but by coincidence it was turned into a rally car later in its life.

What does EV signify on those old plates?

EV is just part of the registration number as we call them, I would think (without checking) that it is a plate issued in the county of Essex obviously because that is where the Dagenham plant is situated and Ford would have registered the car there. Over here a car is issued its license plate which stays with the car throughout its life thus my Anglia still has its registration of SJG877 which is a Canterbury in Kent issue from when the car was sold on 7th October 1959. Unfortunately here we do not have a cheap vanity plate system such as the one you have in the US and many old cars have had their very nice plates sold off for somebody to put on their awful modern vehicle at some expense.
