Hefty price but if it's a limited edition/handbuilt I can understand it. I don't know the make, the model looks good in the -mediocre- pics.

From what I've seen so far they're worth it, fantastic models. Way above my budget, though.

They are great models with as Lars says 'crazy detail'. Being an Impala owner when I found out about these when they were current I was delighted to see that they were making excellent models that were the same as my two Impalas in the same colours with the same engine, the 348ci V8 'W' motor. Thus I bought the 1961 Impala 2-door hardtop aka 'bubbletop' in gold and white which represents the car I owned from 1984-89 and the 1959 Impala hardtop in black with a white stripe which I have owned since 1989. I think I also have a 1962 Impala hardtop that a friend offered me at a good price. It seems that the WCPD models are much sought after in the US. Lars you have my seal of approval for buying two Impalas, which ones did you buy? I wish I had known about the fire sale though, just might have had to buy some more of them.

Search and eBay in March 2016..both different sellers. SALE WCPD 1964 Chevy Impala Coupe in Lagoon Aqua. DDS $59US 1964 Chevy Impala SS Ermine White by West Coast Precision Diecast in 1:24 C $75US Can't recall they had 1962 listed nor the delivery vans. I also purchased the 1961 in white with red stripe and red interior locally for around $100NZ, but seller not put any protection outside/around the factory box and courier must have kicked the winning goal with it as arrived rattling with both windscreens out, interior door cards loose but worse broken A pillars so returned it 😐😐 Shame cos the paint was mint no rash at all and would have been quite the looker. Going to have to get into the attic and check they still decent now 😀😀

These were on par with the best of the "Mint" offerings. They may have even been made in the same factory. They were doing well but all of a sudden the bottom dropped out of the 1:24 market. FM and shortly after DM stopped making them, WCPD held on for a while but they ended as well.
The auction prices are insane.

When asking over $19k USD for a built Provence Moulage Ferrari 312P, one would think they would do free shipping. 😁 Ebay Ferrari auction

We have a local auction house in Australia known as Donington's that sells automotive memorabilia and models who seem to get insane prices for some pieces. Over the weekend they concluded another sale and achieved A$670 (US$449) for a Minichamps 1982 Le Mans Porsche 956 set. The buyer then still had to pay another 18% commission on top of this. A$230 (US$154) plus commission for a 1:43 Minichamps Pink Pig was pretty impressive too! Who says these Minichamps gift boxes are a waste of time!

Nothing is shocking anymore to these eyes. I look at what people pay for 1:1s at legacy auction houses and even the website Bring A Trailer. There's obviously a small group of people with money to burn. Also believe that the ease of purchase via the internet and paying electronically has caused people to distance themselves from the actual 'value' of money. Live for today it seems...
