Miles and Ol' Shel - If you are like me and enjoy having figures in amongst your static model displays, you might be interested in these two new releases by Le Mans Miniatures in 1/18. No doubt fueled by the renewed popularity both Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby received from the movie Ford vs. Ferrari, they are both fit with a variety of models and are welcome additions in my collection. The Ken Miles figure is the closest of the two in capturing the look of his real life counter part. In his grease and oil stained coveralls, he fits with any of the cars he drove from Porsche 1500 to Ford GT40. The Shelby figure comes in two editions. The one pictured here and another in street clothes that is probably meant to depict his appearance at Le Mans in 1966. While Le Mans Miniatures didn't do as well capturing his facial features as they did Miles, it's unmistakably Ol' Shelby in his Stetson and Cobra shirt from the Cobra, Daytona and early GT40 era. Vroom, vroom!

Those look very good and I agree, figurines add life and interest to the displays. Static vehicles can be nice, but racing cars are what they are as much because of the drivers. It's alsoa nice way to add some humour to your displays.
