Trying to make my recent car purchase a little less soccer mom. Thinking of changing the wheels to change the attitude of the car. I can make this switch for about $60 so if it ends up looking dreadful I am not out much Looking for opinions, yea or nay? Current look (The windows are getting tinted next week.) Proposed These are just a press on cover that attaches to the stock steel wheel, not hupcaps per see as they are specific to this particular wheel. I fully intend to change the wheels to something nicer down the road but I need to find a really good deal before that happens. These are great winter wheels.

It is a more aggressive look, but I would suggest painting the stock wheels titanium grey. Not a fan of black wheels, they tend to look like you've lost the wheel trims.

The "after" gives it the soft roading look that younger drivers here of small SUV's like the RAV4 seem to prefer.

I never thought of you as a 'Soccer Mum' Jeff . The black covers aren't bad, but as Tom said, maybe you could respray them charcoal / grey.

Go for it, Jeff!
I like how it looks with black wheels, especially since your tinting the windows!

My vote is for the stock wheels. I think they look great as they are not an unattractive design to begin with. As long as they are in decent shape, I'd save the $60. Tinted windows are a win-win unless bubbly, and I know that's not going to happen

Tint the windows for sure. Save your $60 towards another set of wheels. Use the existing as is wheels for winter Black wheels work on 1991 Sciroccos in red and no other car

It is a more aggressive look, but I would suggest painting the stock wheels titanium grey. Not a fan of black wheels, they tend to look like you've lost the wheel trims. I had thoughts of trying to paint the silver ones grey, I think that would look very good. But, I have read that while these plastic covers go on very well, they do not come off as easily. And i worry about the paint holding up, especially on plastic. The "after" gives it the soft roading look that younger drivers here of small SUV's like the RAV4 seem to prefer. One thing I want to avoid for sure but the black wheel thing must be popular among all ages as every manufacturer sells cars/truck with this option. Go for it, Jeff! I like how it looks with black wheels, especially since your tinting the windows! It will toughen it up a bit, that is for sure. My vote is for the stock wheels. I think they look great as they are not an unattractive design to begin with. As long as they are in decent shape, I'd save the $60. Tinted windows are a win-win unless bubbly, and I know that's not going to happen They are brand spanking new silver snap on covers. Not the biggest fan of silver cars and there is a bit too much silver on it for me. Tint the windows for sure. Save your $60 towards another set of wheels. Use the existing as is wheels for winter Black wheels work on 1991 Sciroccos in red and no other car I do have some red paint, not sure if I could put up with all the breakdowns though....

Went ahead and got the wheels and am happier with the results than I had hoped. Probably not going to chase new wheels now, this is good enough for me.

Tint looks very nice Jeff! Not usually a fan of black wheels, but you are now in 'fashion'. Have you made any trailer hauls yet? Would love to see some photos of this in action. I miss my utility trailer almost as much as my yard

That looks quite nice! Thanks Julio. Not gonna lie, that looks much better than I expected. You and I had the exact same reaction. I agree 100%
