My notes show it is Ch.#1017 which ran at Le Mans in 1966 driven by Rindt and Ireland. It was purchased by Ron Fry who actively campaigned the car in the UK, the Guards Trophy at Mallory Park but one example. Nice add BB!

If you don't like GT40s you are of course wrong. I also have some Bang versions and may have the red car. I did see Ron Fry racing it at Brands Hatch and possibly Crystal Palace, indeed at Brands the car ended up on its roof as I think a tyre blew and it hit the earth bank which flipped it over. A small fire did start but was quickly extinguished and Fry was unhurt.

Nice pair, BB! I also have a couple of Bang GT40s and I love them! Bang did VERY nice work for their time
Those are great, Brooks! Very nice gifts from Jeff! I have a PW version of #9. Indeed they were Tom! I've seen your PW, very nice if memory serves... Every collection needs a GT40 or 2 or 50! Thanks again Jeff I had many Bang GT40’s in my collection for many years until the Sparks came along. Loved the hinged engine cover and the detailed engine underneath. The Mallory Park car must be quite rare. I don’t think anyone else has modelled that car (wonder if it was the same chassis that raced as a red car at Le Mans in 1966?). Thanks Ian...no doubts coming from our Le Mans enthusiast My notes show it is Ch.#1017 which ran at Le Mans in 1966 driven by Rindt and Ireland. This sort of input makes a great place EVEN greater If you don't like GT40s you are of course wrong. I also have some Bang versions and may have the red car. I don't mind a GT40 but don'y have any in my collection, so where does that leave me! Martin, it leaves you searching for GT40's, ahahahah!
Alright, moving to the land of Octoberfest - in November ! This or its PMA counterparts have been shown many times here, but figure there's always room for more? Some consider this one of the last, really great big Mercedes sedans and I would NOT disagree with that.

I agree, classy and distinctive with its dual bumpers. And in the 1970s you could actually get some colour on your executive saloon... Ixo did a great job here.

A nice job by IXO. I'm guessing it's quite expensive to run, even if you are filling it up from a 1:43 petrol pump!

One of my all time favorite MB's. Not sure if I have ever seen one it that color. Not that I am complaining.....

Nice Mercedes from the era when they built quality cars. IXO are making some excellent models.

If you were driving a red Mercedes like that in 1974, you were either a very successful real estate agent or a drug dealer. Lol
Nice model from a time when Mercedes sedans really were status symbols.

In my part of the world... the Balkans, Mercedes has a cult/legendary status. Especially W123, W124, W126 and W140. W116 not so much but I prefer it to the others S-classes. Great model from Ixo!

OK, we're in the final hours of 2023 so figured I would post every car I bought for 2023! Being a remodel zone here, I really cannot take great individual pics... so few just figured I would show them all! 11 IXO and PX bought in late November from the IXO Store sale and then 2 additional, much costlier additions. The 1978 Sbarro Cadillac TAG Function Car and a GIM 1985 Bitter SC Convertible. In total, a lucky 13 cars! I love them all, but truth be told, the most pleasing were those from IXO bought at 'giveaway' prices. Don't be surprised if I don't buy even a SINGLE car in 2024. Will finally begin construction of my new home by early Summer if all goes well! Anyway, here are my group pics at Dad's place, note the cabinet boxes underneath the cars. We built the cabinets last weekend and they will install this Wednesday...they are KITCHEN cabinets not for cars! Cannot wait to have a kitchen again
