Typical late '80s US car for me. I don't think we ever got these here, so I have no recollection. Really nice model though.

Nice model, BB! The regular ones from that generation of Monte Carlos were available in Mexico and they sold extremely well.

Used to see a lot of them on the road, so they were indeed very popular. Didn't GM make a NASCAR tribute version? Those were black I think, but this one looks good in silver. Will the paint start peeling off in a couple years? đ

One of those American cars that I know nothing about - although did they use the silhouette for NASCAR racing? The model looks good though. Absolutely Martin! Not sure whether the 'street' or 'track' version came first...they probably co-existed? Mullet heads rejoice, your car is here! I never thought this was a bad looking car, better than a lot of the day and to me, more desirable than the other white trash wet dream, the IROC Camaro. At least in this you could pretend you were Dale Earnhardt in it. You know your '80s pretty well Jeff Not bad looking at all, just sort 'cheaply' executed and underpowered?

I think they model is made better than the 1:1 Nice model, BB! The regular ones from that generation of Monte Carlos were available in Mexico and they sold extremely well. I read something about that Julio. Always fascinating to hear about Mexican market spinoffs of trims sold here. Used to see a lot of them on the road, so they were indeed very popular. Didn't GM make a NASCAR tribute version? Those were black I think, but this one looks good in silver. Will the paint start peeling off in a couple years? đ Peeling paint and lots of others things separating from the 'Mothership' I suppose? Indeed, many were black, some metallic blue, others white, a few burgundy. Yes, they were popular but really a 'mouse' compared to what was going on over the Buick dealer Thank you Kindly, there will be much more to follow...
Spring is here and it's time to get out into the great wide open, what better than car/jeep that I know nothing about other than I acquired it with the help of our ever-friendly Andy back in 2012! For when your Matra Rancho is just too 'urban'

I've never actually seen one of those but I like ita lot. Whilst the R4 and R6 Rodeo were marketed through Renault in NL, the R5 never was for some reason- perhaps the single-figure sales were disheartening. Rodeos never came anywhere near the already limited sales of the Citroen MĂ©hari. It's a great little car though, enjoyable ride in good weather and a superb model.
Nice add BB!

Normally it's Tom that comes up with these left-field vehicles that cause me to scratch my head with a quizzical look on my face, but kudos to you for providing this piece of motoring obscurity.

I've no doubt they're rare. I would be totally ignorant of it in any scale if not for Andy back in 2012! Cool looking Renault model! You should be called âLe BBâ! Thanks Julio...I've been called worse

You know me well Jeff...that is until the next car Normally it's Tom that comes up with these left-field vehicles that cause me to scratch my head with a quizzical look on my face, but kudos to you for providing this piece of motoring obscurity. Martin, I consider myself pretty predictable, but in my 'own way' if that makes any sense?
Now back to the UK and something very 'close to home'. Back in the Spring of 1995 I actually photographed one of these for an article I wrote for the catalog of that Falls' Concorso Italiano which I think was having a big tribute to Giugiaro. If memory serves, the Gordon-Keeble was Giugiaro's first 'credited' work. About 100 were built and all enjoyed V8 Corvette power from the contemporary Corvette, not unlike the Iso Rivolta which shared the same basic layout and Corvette 327. My main claim to fame with this car is the very kind owner, a Mr. Phillips who I believe had a Jaguar interior trim business, actually took me and a friend for a spin in this beast. With that fact, it was the 'rarest' car that I've ever actually been in! Probably more than anybody wanted to hear...so to the tiny version which is identical in color to the one I photographed.

I regret not getting that when they were plentiful. Excellent model and I like the 1:1 a lot too.

Very envious of this car, I like everything about it except for the fact that I do not have one.
