Not saying I like this, but it cannot help but make you chuckle and ask, how did this EVER happen
I didn't want to click on that...I tried so hard not to click on that...now I just can't un-see that.

I always knew you were a great man of good taste Paul, but this has clinched it for me - two videos from The Modfather himself - I tip my hat to you, much respect (I writing this while wearing my "A Kind Revolution" tour t-shirt from 2018!) The Jools Holland duet with Amy Winehouse is a particular favourite. Divine Comedy are also a favourite.

Although you might be upside down and probably of criminal heritage, i am equally of the opinion you are a person of the highest order Martin and it is no surprise that you have exquisite taste based on your 1/43 collection.

I may be upside down Paul, but I was actually born in NZ, a descendant of Free Settlers! We moved to Australia when I was young, so I now a naturalised criminal ๐ณ. Mrs Alfaholic on the other hand is 100% criminal stock of Irish and Scottish descent! Mr Weller doesnโt tour here often, but when he does he has no trouble filling venues - a lot of men (and women) of a certain age, all wearing Fred Perry polos๐.

Mr Weller is an icon. As you say, the Modfather! Nothing wrong with a Fred Perry (although i understand it has been appropriated by some questionable political groups around the world). Some would say this is possibly the best guitar solo of all time - i'm not a massive Pink Floyd fan, but even i can applaud this live performance of Comfortably Numb www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kWl-ZGMwkQ

I was wearing Fred Perry long before those far right-wing nut-jobs appropriated certain versions Paul, and I'll continue to do so long after they've moved on . I believe that the black with gold edging has been removed from the US market temporarily. Some of these nutters may wish to research Mr Perry's working class history and who he worked with before adopting his shirts. There is also the small fact that his clothes were adopted by Mods - a group that were all about the blending of music from different cultures! Rant over, I'm going to have to put on a Specials LP to calm myself down .

I am a huge Dave Gilmour/Pink Floyd fan Wouldn't say no to Nick Mason's car collection either

Saw this referenced somewhere and wanted to share. 1997, one-hit wonder. Simple but effective.

In respect of Terry Hall and my love of Ska music. He had a horrifying experience as a child that i was unaware of until reading his obituary. RIP. youtu.be/RZ2oXzrnti4

Yes, a true loss, not only for The Specials music but also their political stances and blending of white and black - something many still haven't worked through. I wasn't aware of his childhood experiences either until recently. Thankfully he was able to rise above it.

Very old thread, but thought I would bump with this. A very 'vintage' video from way back in 1975! Love the complete atmosphere of the whole thing. Very mysterious woman looking disinterested in it all...can't crack of a smile the whole time, yet she is somehow attractive. Brilliant James Jamerson of Motown-fame bass line underlying lush strings and I 'THINK???" the car they're driving is a Citroen DS/ID (that's like catnip to me as an Alfa is to Martin).
This was Robert Palmer before he went all glitzy MTV. To think he's been dead for 20 years now and that he died at the age I am now...
Anyhow, if you're still interested...

I will never forget one summer I was in Myrtle Beach for about 10 days, it was right when he hit big with his glitzy MTV song. I would bet that I heard that song every hour on the hour the entire time. I was not used to "Hit Radio" as we had 2 very progressive AOR stations in town. He almost ruined my vacation
