Today Tabletop Village visits Uruguay. The inspiration came from a set of photos an Argentine friend of mine posted on Flickr when he compared is TC III Taunus with a Brazilian Ford Del Rey seen on the street. Taunus & Del Rey (Uruguay 2008) by Ale06, on Flickr Ford Del Rey(Altaya) and Ford Taunus (IXO) by IFHP97, on Flickr Taunus & Del Rey (Uruguay 2008) by Ale06, on Flickr Ford Taunus (IXO) and Ford Del Rey (Altaya) by IFHP97, on Flickr And from there I just had fun. If you know your global automotive history, you know that Uruguay was, until the 1990s, one of those countries where cars are keep in daily use for many decades. Here is another exercise in mimicking real photos. I took this picture near my office in October just because I was enjoying the Fall foliage. Later on I wondered how close I could come to recreating the photo in 1:43. St Edwards Episcopalian Church by IFHP97, on Flickr Street Scene III by IFHP97, on Flickr Okay, so it was a little boring and I had to add some other details. Farmer's Market by IFHP97, on Flickr In which the cars got pushed further into the background. Autumn Car Show by IFHP97, on Flickr Happily there was a car show going on.

Thanks everyone. Jeff your right, my dioramas are a little too bright and shinny compared to the Black Keys cover art. Here I've tried it in sepia (still too cheery though). Ford Windstar by Moto Max by IFHP97, on Flickr
