This photo was taken in Shelton, Washington, December 1957. I tried to recreate it in my 2013 Holiday Village diorama. Shelton, Washington, December 1957 by IFHP97, on Flickr From the 2013 Mason County Historical Society calendar. The cars that I can identify left to right: 1951-53 Hudson, 1957 Pontiac Safari, circa 1947-48 Chevrolet Aerosedan, early 50's Nash Rambler, the car behind it might be a '57 Ford, but not sure. In the street a 1954 Chevrolet and behind it I think a 1954 Pontiac. Holiday Village 2013 by IFHP97, on Flickr I replaced the cars in the original photo with (L to R): 1950 Mercury (Minichamps), 1958 Edsel Bermuda (Minichamps), 1947 Ford (IXO), 1958-59 Ford Anglia (Vanguards), 1957 Ford (Road Champs), 1953 F-100 (Matchbox), 1956 Ford Fairlane (IXO) and 1954 Mercury Monterey Sun Valley (Neo). Recreating photos found on Facebook seems to be an emerging trend in my one-night stand diorama photography. These photos are riffing off of photos found the Ford Oldtimers und Motor Sport Club's (Cologne, Germany) FB page. As always, some of the fun is figuring out the closest model I have to the vehicles in the original pictures, be they Fords or something else. Ford Oldtimer und Motorsport Club by IFHP97, on Flickr www.facebook.com/fomcc/photos/pb.271779276274017.-2207520000.1406412914./569215323197076/?type=3&theaterIt will be a happy day for me when a German Type 48 (Ford V8) is produced in 1:43, in the meantime the American style Model 68 (1936 Ford) will have to do. The XD Falcon Ute was as close as I could come to 1977-79 Ranchero. I didn't do any table top dioramas in August (the weather is too nice). Here are a few shots from my last dio -- my eight year old daughter suggested that I setup some scenes with her pull action taco truck. I was standing in line at a taco truck today, which inspired me to post these now. Taco Truck by IFHP97, on Flickr Taco Truck by IFHP97, on Flickr Taco Truck by IFHP97, on Flickr

Here is another sort of drawn from real life. Railroad Ave, Shelton, WA, January 2014 by IFHP97, on Flickr Shelton, Washington, January 2014 Downtown by IFHP97, on Flickr This all-Ford reenactment generated an undue (in my opinion) amount of interest on Flickr. Here is the caption I provided. Due to the huge number of views and likes for this photo, I thought that I should provide some context. I have a growing collection of 1:43 scale Fords of all nationalities and I enjoy creating dioramas with them using O-scale railroad accessories as back ground. Recently I have begun trying to approximate street scenes found in current and historical photos. This diorama is based on a photo that I took in Shelton, Washington in 2014. Because I only collect scale Ford’s, when recreating a street scene I have to translate the vehicles in the actual photos into the Fords in my collection. When picking the models to place in a picture I have to decide if I am going to limit my selection to the types of Fords sold in the county that the original photo is from, or use a fantastically unlikely mix of models sold in mutually exclusive markets (as I have done here).
