Excellent tribute photos! I'm shocked to see how big that new Ford GT looks next to its Wixom plant siblings! đŸ˜³ Yeah, I noticed that too. I think that they were pretty big, but current generation is even bigger. Ford GTs by Michael, on Flickr OMG! That’s unbelievable!

That is really impressive. Are there any plants you don't have enough models for? Yes. The first one that comes to mind is the Piquette Ave plant. This was Ford's second plant and ran from 1905 to 1910. All of the pre-T cars were built there, except for the 1903-04 Model A. There are other plants that built less ten five different models (such as the Mack Ave plant that just built the original Model A, or something like Ford's first German plant in Berlin that just built Model T's and A's for a five-year period).

Hi, very interesting information, and a great selection of models, not to mention the diorama credits! I recognized that light blue Ford Falcon. Not an easy model to get, specially from abroad Argentina.

Five Ford Tribute: Southampton Assembly, 1972-2013 by Michael, on Flickr Five Ford Tribute: Southampton Assembly, 1972-2013 What would become the Southampton Transit factory was originally opened in 1939 by Cunliffe-Owen Aircraft to produce aircraft parts and eventually Spitfire planes. Brigg Motor Bodies bought the plant in 1947 and Ford bought Briggs in 1953. In 1972, Ford started manufacturing Transits here, with bodies pressed at Dagenham. When Ford's Genk plant stopped building Transits, Southampton became the source of all Transits sold in western Europe. In 2010, Ford decided to concentrate all Transit production at their joint venture with Koc in Turkey. The last British Transits were built in 2013. The last Southampton made Transit was also the last Ford vehicle of any sort to be built in Britain -- ending a 102-year run that started with Model T production at Trafford Park in 1911. Note: for technical reason I had to reduce the number of models in this diorama to four. Later the plant was renamed MTP (Michigan Truck Plant) and production consisted of F-Series trucks and Broncos. In the early 2010s the plant was retooled to build the Focus and C-Max hybrid. In the late 2010s the plant was retooled again for light truck production. Currently the plant builds the T6 Ranger and the new Bronco. In the Eighties Mazda and Mazda-based Ford vehicles added to the mix. By the 2000s Lio-Ho had an in-house design department that created unique version of Fords sold elsewhere such as the Laser-based Tierra and the Mondeo-based Metrostar (I wish there were 1:43 scale models available for these unique Fords). As of the early 2020s, Lio-Ho is building the Focus and Kuga. Lio-Ho has been an export platform for other SE Asian countries (and even Canada with the 1988-90 Mercury Tracer). Ford bought Willys in 1967 acquiring both their vehicle catalog and the San Bernardo plant. Ford continued to build Willys vehicles here (rebranded as FORDs for MY 1969). This included a Renault based car that came to be known as the Ford Corcel. After the dissolution of AutoLatina (1987-95) Ford began building Fiestas here. Truck production was moved to the San Bernardo when Ford closed the Ipiranga plant 2000. In 2004 Fiesta-based vehicle production was moved to a new plant in NE Brazil known as Camaçari. When production of the Ford Cargo ended in 2019, Ford closed San Bernardo. Apparently much of it has since been demolished. The factory started as an assembly plant, but by 1958 had an engine foundry (Y-block V8) and panel presses, and was building Ford's first fully manufactured Brazilian vehicle, a F-600, followed quickly by a F-100 pickup and a F-350. Car production started in 1967 with the (1966 style) Galaxie. In 1967 Ford bought Willys do Brasil's factory (and product line) at San Bernardo de Campo, which allowed Ipiranga to focus large cars and trucks. The Ipiranga plant was closed in 2000 and has since been demolished.
