Great model. Car was extremely cool and mighty impressive in real life too! I may have to make an exception to my die cast metal only policy.

Very cool car but where did you get this? I've had a search on ebay since it was announced but so far I've only seen one from Japan and there seem to be none elsewhere.

It looks a bit like a "futuristic" car from a 1960s TV show.

Thanks. I never pre-order as models usually become available elsewhere before arriving in the UK. It seems that this time I should have looked closer to home.

Unfortunately it seems, pre-order is the way you have to go to be reasonably sure of getting models. The way I see it, the days of waiting till a model is released are over, unless you want to buy from resellers. Manufacturers are just making enough product to meet order demand and retailers are only ordering enough to cover pre-orders, plus maybe a few extra on popular subjects. No more carrying product in inventory and also due to the expense they have to cover as makers are turning out a lot of product continuously. The upside is that it doesn't cost anything to pre-order at most retailers and cancel if you change your mind. The downside is the risk of several models being released at once since release schedules are hard to predict, and having a lot of models to pay for. GPM says the can order that Aston. You might check with them and see if that's true.

I don't pre-order because I had a few issues with cars that were released and appeared on the likes of ebay and then disappeared without ever arriving at my chosen supplier. Mine is not always the best approach as your experience with the Aston shows but I don't think I've missed any of my most needed models.

Strangely, there seem to have been more available in the UK than the EU but they're all sold out here now. Perhaps this is just a first tranche and another batch is on its way.
