For ~30 years, I've been involved in the marketing and shipping of various mineral commodities, so I've been able to build up a collection of samples of the minerals I've been involved with including:
Zircon sand Ilmenite (low grade titanium ore) Rutile (high grade titanium ore) Garnet Zinc Concentrate
Lead Concentrate
Iron Ore Salt Potassium Sulphate
Maybe not as cool as sporting figures, but its possibly the only collection like this in the world .

That’s quite an interesting collection! Be careful not to leave it close to your kitchen, though! Some of those remind me of the sophisticated kinds of salts people are using today!

I've been to all of the mines Jeff, except the garnet mine. Most are above ground mines, except the zinc and lead mine which was underground. It's quite cool to see how the mines operate up close. That’s quite an interesting collection! Be careful not to leave it close to your kitchen, though! Some of those remind me of the sophisticated kinds of salts people are using today! Don't worry Julio, there not going anywhere near the kitchen. Obviously the lead is toxic, but the zircon is also slightly radioactive !

Interesting collection, this makes it much more tangible than numbers in a spreadsheet.

I spent much of last week at our mining operations, 1200 km from home on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert. This is what $250 million will buy you.
Here's how the product is moved to port - a 55m (175ft) 'Quad' road train. Maybe one day someone will produce on of these in 1:43!

I dare say that view's a bit different to most of our workplaces Ian. We have only been to the usual places in WA, Perth, Margaret River, etc., but we need to see this part of the world someday - that red earth is so iconic.
