I want to take apart a Spark Matra 650 model, and I i am running into a problem. I have taken it apart pretty easily but I need to remove the clear parts like headlight covers, air intake covers etc that will be damaged if I use a blade. So I am wondering if anyone knows 1) the type of glue that Spark uses on clear and other parts and 2) how best to remove the glue to detach those items. I am trying to soak the model in water to see if it dissolves any white glue but so far there is no success. Thanks.

I've had good success soaking resin models in undiluted Simple Green. I did that with this project:
It took about a week but it eventually removed all of the old paint and decal and loosened the parts.

I am planning to strip a Spark model , are they varnished or lacquered , and what is Simply Green , I have nevervseen mention of the product , I am in Ireland so it may not be on sale here hoping someone can help Don't know if this will help in the current trade climate, but the UK has a distributor for this product, which is typically made in the USA: www.simplegreen.co.uk
The UK has Simply Red, but that's an entirely different product from the 1980s, hahahaha!
