RAE Models Jaguar XK140I have recently completed this model for a customer. He had fitted most parts but asked if I could finish it to the end. He purchased this model back in the 1990s from RAE Models, Chertsey, England. The listings show their XK120 version. The body is made of resin and measures 21.5” long and 8” wide. I have put a standard size Humbrol paint pot alongside the model to give you an idea of the size. The model came pre painted in maroon and I remember painting up the dashboard and door cappings for him years ago. The bumpers are polished ally. The chrome strips down the bonnet and boot were missing so were replaced with a polished wire, whilst all the glass was replaced with thinner modern clear plastic. Overall, it is a heavy model but just looks the part. I wonder how many actually got built and survive today? ChrisDSCN1636 aaDSCN1635 aaDSCN1613 aaDSCN1615 aaDSCN1616 aaDSCN1638 aa

Wow, stunning model and amazing build! Not sure if I'd dare tackle that myself either...

I recall those kits and being quite expensive at the time. I don't think many were produced let alone finished. It is a stunning looking model and certainly a centerpiece to someone's collection.
