I hope your book is correct and that this car still exists; it's always seemed a shame to me that this body was replaced by the less interesting Cuneo. I have the old Alezan version of this car and it's plenty good enough if not quite up to the standard of the Matrix.

Very attractive looking model! …much nicer than my old Corgi! I'm guessing that has a lot to do with the time difference between the two models Julio, as well as the price! I must’ve played with that toy hundreds of times, not realising at the time that it was a real car (albeit a concept). As Julio said, this looks a lot better though. I can see why you're so happy to finally have two interesting concepts in your collection. It's be a fun collection to put together Tom. I’m another who remembers the Corgi. Is that where the Alfa Romeo passion started? Nevertheless, the Matrix is 10 times better. Now I just hope we can see a group shot of all the Tipo 33 concepts together. I never had the Corgi version, unlike seemingly most of the Forum members! A group shot may happen when I get a bit of time (i.e. when my family heads back home after their holiday!) Very "Space Race" in design. That would not go a miss on Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds or Stingray. Excellent addition Martin. I agree Paul, very futuristic. A must add to your collection Martin. Very much so Paul. I hope your book is correct and that this car still exists; it's always seemed a shame to me that this body was replaced by the less interesting Cuneo. I have the old Alezan version of this car and it's plenty good enough if not quite up to the standard of the Matrix. The book is not 100% clear on the whereabouts of the car/body Will, but they are adamant that the two cars were built on two different chassis.

The Alfa Romeo P33 Roadster from matrix posted above was supposed to be my last addition for 2022, as I was not expecting any 1:43 treats from Santa. While my family are aware of my model car collecting hobby, they generally don’t buy me any 1:43 gifts as they don’t usually have any idea what to get me. However, this year my sister and her family from London were in Braidwood for Christmas, and as well as this being the first time we have all been together for six years, she did take a punt on buying me a model car. Having perused eBay in the UK, she came up with this little beauty. Back in 2021 I did pick up a Detail Cars version of the Alfa Romeo 105 Giulia GT 1300 Junior from the seller I see each year at the AutoItalia event. That model was of a silver car with a red interior. At that time he also had a brown with tan interior version, and although it did appeal to me, I went with the silver/red combo instead – I did mention it was a tough choice when posting the silver one in 2021! Well, I now have the brown/tan one to sit alongside it. Considering these Detail cars models are now quite old, I believe they stand up well in comparison to more recent 105 Series offerings from AutoArt and Minichamps. They may lack a bit of detail when compared to the more up-market offerings, but Detail Cars have captured the lines well. As I noted back in 2021: “Launched in 1966 at Alfa Romeo’s Balocco test track just outside Milan, the Giulia GT 1300 Junior was a more affordable version of the Bertone-designed Giulia GT that had been released in 1963. Using the same body as it’s more powerful sibling the only obvious differences were the plainer hubcaps, only one chrome bar on the grille, and “Junior” badging. Alfa also saved a bit of money on the car by giving it a slightly more basic cabin than the Giulia GT.
The major change over the more upmarket car was the adoption of Alfa’s familiar 1,290cc twin-cam 4-cylinder engine - until then the Giulia had always had the 1,570cc twin-cam unit. The smaller engine was effectively the same as that which was fitted to the Giulietta Spider and had seen service since 1955. In this form it produced 89 hp at 5500rpm, and with torque of 89lb ft at 3000rpm, the Junior was good for 174 km/h.
The GT 1300 Junior had a couple of facelifts and upgrades during its initial production period from 1966 to 1971. The most significant change came with the addition of a GT 1600 Junior in 1971 – this car utilised a version of the 1,570cc engine from the senior Giulia range. The two Juniors then sold alongside each other until 1976. Jut over 92,000 GT 1300 Juniors were made during its first life up to 1971, with a further 14,300 1300 and 1600 Juniors being sold from 1972 to 1976.”
A very nice way to round out my collecting year. Detail Cars 1969 Alfa Romeo 105 Giulia GT 1300 Junior 1.3 Brown/Tan

I have the same model, so you know I can endorse this. As you say, it holds up well for its age.

That’s a little beauty Martin. Your sister did exceptionally well to find a model you didn’t have - I’m not even sure I could do that.

Nice model! It is quite delightful Julio I have the same model, so you know I can endorse this. As you say, it holds up well for its age. It makes a nice comparison with the silver/red version Tom. Nice little Alfa in a period color. It just needs a wide, striped tie to go with it Jeff . That’s a little beauty Martin. Your sister did exceptionally well to find a model you didn’t have - I’m not even sure I could do that.

Proper period colour for that. I like it I think the brown works really well with the tan interior. I'm sure if you wandered into a (name the brand) dealer and asked for that on a new car you would get laughed out of the place.
