What a lovely nostalgic piece, congrats! When Dinky folded somewhere arond 1976-'77, I visited toy stores on my UK holidays and collected a few Dinkies at low prices. One of them was this AEC tractor but with an Esso tanker trailer. It was the pride of nmy collection for years.

I had the Husky transporter as a boy and probably played with it the most out of all of my cars. This sure evokes that memory and is a great addition to your collection.

Paul, did you notice that Cult Scale models have released an Anglia 105E in 1:18 in blue and green? Not cheap, but as far as I can see they're great models.

Very nice, indeed! I remember that, as a kid, I had a Corgi (or Dinky?) car transporter. Unfortunately, it was one of the ones that didn’t survive!

No I had not noticed that, I haven't seen any mention of it in the one model car magazine that we have here. I will have to buy it but I know that Cult models are expensive, I thought about buying their model of the Mk2 Zodiac as I've owned two of those but never got around to buying it.

I have, had or at least know all those. Back in the '80s when new models were scarce, I used to go over swapmeet tables of old Dinky, Corgi and Spot-On looking for something I could afford. They were still the best models of lots of cars, never mind that the models (and the cars) were 30-something years old by then.
Thanks for the great memories!

I'd forgotten about the radar truck, an incredibly cool piece! All very nice! Old Dinky and Corgis make a charming collection.

As Jerry commented, all of these old Corgis, Dinky etc have endless charm. It must have been a magical time to be able to find these in the shops? I think these sorts of models were at the tail-end of their reign when I would see brand-new Corgis/Dinky (think Lotus Elite, Kojak Buick etc) new on display in the US in the very late 1970s. Only really special higher-end train and model kit stores would stock them, and then those stores were in larger cities! A few came my way as cherished gifts at Christmas time
