National Heroes is one of my collections that was a thread back on S143 and is included on my website. It features the best driver(s) from each country. In my opinion that is! I have long wanted to upgrade my model choice for the Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya. At present it is a Minichamps Williams FW22 but it is a “showcar” which I normally don’t collect. I am now interested in this on eBay. It is by Action and I’m not sure about the quality. I fancy it is not quite up to Minichamps standard and probably features that dreaded front axle! I’m keen on it since it is his Cart Championship winning car. Any advice appreciated. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165560126061?hash=item268c270a6d:g:i2UAAOSwfOxiwgvk

I found this one which has better pictures. Montoya Reynard. It does not look to have a front axle. I would rate these models between Minichamps and Onyx for quality. Decent looking shelf models typical of diecast at the time. Good graphics but not the fine detail of suspension, wheels etc. We see today. Hope that helps. BTW they showed Montoya on TV in the McLaren pit garage during the British GP.

I concur with Jerry. Action are not up to today's standards but they show pretty well.

As you say it shows well and is much more significant than the incumbent model which I can sell eventually. I can always cut the front axle if necessary. BTW Jerry what a fantastic race the British GP was, best one for a long time. And to think that that ..ckhead and Putin cheerleader Ecclestone wanted to take it away from Silverstone and even remove it from the calendar. Good riddance.

Because of the time difference I record all the F1 races. It's the first F1 race I have watched flag (restart) to flag without fast forwarding in a very long time and/or dozed off in the middle. Hope we get more like it! Bernie certainly stuck a fork in it, he's done! 😁

It holds up OK for the era. And the graphics are excellent even by modern standards. I think the car would be a worthy addition based on that alone. When a photo of a vintage 1/43 can be blown up this much and the graphics are still sharp it goes in the "win" column for me.

The Montoya Reynard Cart winner arrived today (no front axle). I’m well pleased and it does “show well”. It replaces the Williams in the Cabinet

Looks great in the cabinet. The CART cars of that era were aggressive looking beasts.

Montoya's achievements in CART were much more noteworthy than his F1 efforts, so I think this is a great addition.
