You did a great job there! I bought the Lancia model when it was first released and I still have it. Schuco-Dickie Toys had a line of models for casual and new collectors called Schuco Juniors. None of the castings were made for the series, all were recycled from other lines that they took over. Your Beetle started out as one of the better Hongwell Cararama models, a maker known for their hit-or-miss castings. This one was clearly a 'hit'. If you're brave enough to attempt another detail you can take this from great to excellent. The real Beetle has rubber piping between the wings and the body, the engine cover handle and engine cover and the rear lights and the wings. It's very hard to get right and few model makers have attempted it, but for me it really makes the model.

I still have Rotring pens from pre CAD Software, when we had to draw architecture in paper. It would take some 0,1, 0,2 mm pen, but I dont have a steady hand to do it! And I dont think that decals will do, curved decals are very tricky...
