For more than 20 years I have this red 250 GTO from Box, in which I made minor interventions. A couple of years ago I got the same model in a grey metallic version (1,2). I always found remarkable that a GT wold come in 2ยบ place in 1962 Le Mans race, so it was time to recriate this fantastic car. Box's model is excellent, but quality control often failed in many of these models by that time. We can see it in image 1, and the one I've worked was even worse. So I had to spend some time improving the metal surfaces, and adding those things behind the rear wheels (3). Front lights and wire wheels from Remember helped a lot to the final result (3,4). Interior is pretty good, I just had to add a big rev counter in the dash, new gear lever and doors inner structures (8), that are quite visible in the real car. I dont feel modest about this one, it came pretty nice.

A very nice conversion. Box made a good basic model of the 250 GTO, mostly let down by the wheels. The effort you put in, great touches like number lights, etc. make for a very satisfying model. Well done!

Very nice job!
I used to have this model too, and always felt it was underscale. I can't compare them but feel that my Ixo PW 250 GTO is much closer to 1:43. Never measured them though.

The paint is looking really smooth and catching the light well.

Thanks, members. Tom, I agree about the scale, but this time I forgot about that... was too focused in the details!
