At some point I have to admit that in addition to collecting 1:43 scale model cars, I also collect 1:43 and O scale model buildings. Usually about three or four a year. Woodland Scenics Corner Emporium Barber Shop & Boyd's Billiards by Michael, on Flickr Woodland Scenics Corner Emporium Barber Shop & Boyd's Billiards This past weekend this Woodland Scenics model building arrived. WS models seem to be the best in the business and with the addition of this Emporium, I now have four, which means I now have one side of a city block. WS focuses on early 20th Century American architecture. I do hope that they broaden their scope as some point as I'd love to have some good mid-century buildings in my dioramas as well. Kitbashed O Scale Corner Store/Apartment Building by Michael, on Flickr Kitbashed O scale corner store/apartment building based on Plasticville parts. I really like the design, but not the color. I ended up painting it. Recent Arrival by Michael, on Flickr Brought To You By The Letter "F" by Michael, on Flickr Here it is painted. I painted the back a different color, and it has a totally different vibe. Ford Capri V6/GT and Cortina GT by Trax by Michael, on Flickr Winter Village, 1970's by Michael, on Flickr Mid-Century Apartment Building, O Scale by Michael, on Flickr Very nicely detailed mid-century apartment building based on a Plasticville kit. I'm very impressed by the detailing by a previous owner. Recent Arrival by Michael, on Flickr

Those look great! I would love some neutral European buildings as a backdrop...

Those look great! I would love some neutral European buildings as a backdrop... Me too! And some not so neutral. I'd love to have some Amsterdam Canal Houses or something that you might see in Brugge.

I'd love to have some Amsterdam Canal Houses or something that you might see in Brugge. Canal houses are available, but they’re more like 1:87. Made in ceramic and intended for a Christmas display. There are other nostalgic Dutch houses available that look more like 1:43 but I've only seen two different styles and they look nowhere near as realistic as yours.

I ordered a '1:43' kit from Greenhills Garages, but I think as your picture shows, they aren't really 1:43 at all. If they were, the roofline of the building wouldn't be lower than the roofline of the Ford Transit. Such a pity because if they were proper 1:43 they'd sell a lot more.

Might be, but I've cleaned the gutters of a friend's old house sitting on the roof rack of his Opel van, reaching down...

Pretty nice. Some careful weathering would make it look fantastic.

My experience with the Greenhills buildings is they feel more 1:50 than 1:43 despite what they say.
