I like those WS buildings Michael. I can see some possibilities with those. I too have the "White House" which I thought I would use in a White House Corner diorama, but wasn't keen on the building color and discovered it couldn't easily be weathered/changed as the paper peels off easily if it gets moist. I still plan to do one someday, but think I will use it as a template to build my own. The only other ready made building I have is this plastic O Scale gas station which I bought over 30 years ago. Unsure of the maker. This gas station appears to be from the "Plasticville" series that has serviced generations of American O-Scale model railroad enthusiast. Always a bit small, basic and inexpensive -- they make great backgrounds for dioramas. Actually, sometimes people who know what they are doing have done fantastic detailing on these buildings that belie their humble origins. I have one example that I bought second hand that I'll post later. As always, your scratch-built buildings put everything else to shame.

Me too! And some not so neutral. I'd love to have some Amsterdam Canal Houses or something that you might see in Brugge. Canal houses are available, but they’re more like 1:87. Made in ceramic and intended for a Christmas display. There are other nostalgic Dutch houses available that look more like 1:43 but I've only seen two different styles and they look nowhere near as realistic as yours. Ford Ranger Sport (1998) Mexican Partwork Series IXO by Michael, on Flickr Behind this model you can see a row of Canal Houses, which I found in a home decor store. They are holiday decorations (you can put little lights inside). These are probably HO scale or smaller, but I bought them because I was thinking that I could lay the fronts on a photocopier using the enlarge function and created a decent templet. I don't know if I'll ever get around to it, but it's possible.

Mine are solid ceramic. I'll see if I can find a picture.

I've only done one so far. It is an original Lionel Plasticville kit that i modified to represent my dad's automobile salvage yard. I spent a lot of time there as a kid and it made me into the car guy that I am today.
I'd be remiss if I left out a photo that includes "Rock" riding the yard dog. Rock was a 140lb Great Shepard that gave his life defending our property. Our yard dog was a salvaged Willy's that we shortened, but this is a pretty good representation that captures the feel of what those grunts were like.

Excellent! Although, I think that “Fairlane Motors” would have been more appropriate!

I was looking at some of the buildings at Menards with the same intent. The "where am I going to put it" argument one out.

Amazes me that they sell 'whole house' packages in 2023. Do you know anyone who has built one? I guess that approach would never fly in Florida where the building code is extremely stringent thanks to hurricanes.
