Knowing there are a few Anglia fans here, I thought some of you might be interested in these new 1:43 Anglia's from Trax.
Just don't expect Vanguards level of pricing.

I received my yellow and white version recently, it's nice but I have no idea why they have put wipers on that are for the LHD market cars unless Australian market cars had LHD wipers. I'm still waiting for the WA police version to be sent. Oh yellow and white are the colours of my 1:1 Anglia so I had to buy that one!

Nice models, but I don't like Trax's heavy retouching of their pictures. They're using photos of the real body, but the rest is pure photoshop.

I wasn’t aware of the W.A. Police version, but will highlight that in the next West Australian Model Collectors Club monthly magazine.

Photo of the WA police car, presumably they would have been used in towns and cities for local duties as the police did here in the UK when they were known as panda cars. I think the Anglia 105E was the first car to be designated for use as a panda car, other cars followed such as Morris Minors, Triumph Heralds, Vauxhall Vivas, Austin/Morris 1100, Hillman Imp, Escorts, Austin Allegros etc.

I did a little investigation of the Anglia over the weekend and it turns out that there were only 3 here in W.A. They were all based at suburban stations around Perth, and the one modelled by Trax was the 3rd one that was based at Cottesloe, a seaside suburb 12km from the centre of Perth. A 4th car, a reproduction, was constructed in the 1990's. The more widespread use of the Anglia's by the W.A. police was curtailed by the arrival of the Ford Cortina in 1964.

The Cortina was of course more spacious and with the 1500 engine fairly spritely. That said a 1200 Anglia was quite nippy back then. I see from your photo that the Anglia does indeed have the RHD wipers so Trax have made a bit of an error with the model which bearing in mind that they're not cheap is rather poor.

The later 123E (green & white) is in on my list.

Has anyone bought one of these yet? The catalog photos seen above looks great, but photos I've seen on e-bay and elsewhere, are not as good. The roof appears to be less canted than in the real car and on the white and green models, the "ANGLIA" badge on bonnet appears to be missing!
