Sad story!
Nice looking model of one of the very few Porsches that I like!

Such a tragedy. If I remember correctly, he hadn't done up his seat belts which is why he was thrown from the car. His crash almost claimed Chris Amon as well. I also thought he blew an engine in practice and had to have Porsche bring in a new one for the race. Despite the circumstances, nice add!

It is unfortunate that in this case what could have gone wrong did go wrong and Woolfe lost his life over really what amounted to inexperience combined with impatience, which is never a good mix at the best of times. Kudos to Spark for modelling this

Tragic story, but wonderful model. Some things weren't better in the old days!

Tragic indeed. It’s a good thing that racing cars have improved to the point that such debacles are now few and far between. Great model of what still is an impressive car. Agreed Tom. Thankfully cars are much better, but removing the Le Mans style start has also made the start of the race much safer (though it still doesn't remove first lap accidents as we have seen in recent years). Sad story! Nice looking model of one of the very few Porsches that I like! Interesting Julio. I've been a huge fan of these '69 917's because of the front winglets which look like an afterthought (and probably were). I much prefer the later '70 and '71 917's. I'd read about the belts not being done up too Jerry, but I don't know if that's ever been proved conclusively. Even if he'd had his belts done up, it seem unlikely he would have survived anyway. It is unfortunate that in this case what could have gone wrong did go wrong and Woolfe lost his life over really what amounted to inexperience combined with impatience, which is never a good mix at the best of times. Kudos to Spark for modelling this It has been modelled before Andy and I have an earlier version of Woolfe's 917 by Ebbro, but the Spark is much nicer. Tragic story, but wonderful model. Some things weren't better in the old days! Spark did a great job, especially replicating the rear aerofoils which were a key feature of the early 917. Thankfully Porsche are not likely to sell an amateur one of their 963's today, but it was a bit different back then, especially given the need to sell 25 cars to meet homologation requirements.

If this Aston Martin looks familiar, it because this is its third appearance on the forum . It was also a very successful entrant at Le Mans in 2021. The “TF” in “TF Sport” belong to Tom Ferrier, a former British Touring Car and British GT driver who founded his own racing team in 2014. The team has since gone on to competes in various motorsport series throughout Europe including the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 hours of Le Mans. TF Sport secured an automatic entry to Le Mans 2021 after their GTE-AM class win in the 2020 race, and they would enter two Aston Martin Vantage AMRs both in the GTE-Am class. The No.33 shown here was entered for Felipe Fraga, Ben Keating & Dylan Pereira, who qualified 6th in class and 45th overall after making it through to the Hyperpole qualifying. On race day they also had good pace and gained nine places in the first three house. By the end of the sixth hour, they had risen to 32nd overall, and in doing so they took the GTE-Am class lead from the No.83 Ferrari 488. The following hour saw Felipe Fraga drop to 4th in class after hitting a tyre wall and having to pit for a puncture. Despite this setback, by the mid-point of the race the No. 33 Aston Martin was running 30th overall, 2nd in class to the No. 83 Ferrari. The Aston Martin and Ferrari chased each other all the way to the chequered flag over the next 12 hours. The Ferrari mostly had the measure of the Aston Martin, though it did briefly get in from in the 20th hour. Unfortunately a minor engine misfire cost them the lead, and they weren’t able to recover in the time available, eventually finishing 2nd in class and 26th overall. Car : 2021 #33 Aston Martin Vantage GTETeam : TF Sport Drivers : Ben Keating (USA)/ Felipe Fraga (BRA)/ Dylan Pereira (LUX) Qualifying : 44th Result : 26th (2nd in GTE Am) Model : Spark (S8266)

This one was always going to come home to you Ian, and rightly so.
I did notice the "Heel Tread" logos on the car. - considering the amount of their socks I have purchased, you'd think they'd sponsor a 488!!

Fabulous. Nothing further to add I think I'm almost as much of a fan of Spark's AM Vantages as you are Andy, so I'm with you on this one. Nice looking model! It is Julio. I think I decided this was joining my collection even before the race had been run. It might be its third appearance but it won't bore me. Love the car and model. Thanks Tom. I think its a standout model. Ben Keating figures prominently in my collection Jerry, so I'll be hoping his LMP2 drive is a successful one. Given his and United Autosports results to date I suspect he'll do well. Happy to see that again and again Thanks Paul. It's definitely a bit of a looker. I'll spend a bit more time perusing their site tonight.

Yep, and the GTA ones, and pretty much anything Italian - Lancia, Maserati and Ferrari, oh and the Senna ones. I pretty much only wear these socks!!
