The 935 set a pretty high bar for a bonkers looking race car.

Rennsport Reunion is taking place this weekend at Laguna Seca and one of Henn's 935's from Le Mans is running. Always colorful cars with good drivers. I can understand your wanting this one back. If anyone is interested, the Rennsport live feed is here: www.porscherennsportreunion.com/rr7live/

Glad you follow my logic Tom. The 935 set a pretty high bar for a bonkers looking race car. I love 'em Jeff. I probably have more than I really need, but they are great looking cars that are hard to go past. Bit late but I like that 935, like you I have more than I need. Except there are way more that might tempt me at the right price. It is possible I have this car in a cheap and cheerful Quartzo version, they did a number of 935's. On another note I did once meet Mr Henn, he was renting some workshops from a sadly late friend who sold US performance parts just down the road from Brands Hatch. I went one evening to get something (more like a social occasion really but with hot cams and bad coffee) and as he knew I liked circuit racing he said there's a team along there getting a Porsche 956/962 ready for Le Mans, go and have a look. I did and the door was open so I stood respectfully at the entrance whereupon Mr Henn spotted me and invited me in. Very friendly guy, I told him that I was going to the race so he said to come by their garage and say hello. Sadly I never got the chance to do that but it was nice of him to invite me to do so.

I'm wondering if that was 1983 Paul. Henn entered a single 956 at Le Mans, but the team gave it a shakedown run at the Silverstone 1000kms a month beforehand.
He also entered a 956 and a 962 in 1984, but neither car raced in the UK before Le Mans.
What a missed opportunity not to join them at Le Mans. The livery is very eye-catching Paul.

This is also another addition for my Australians at Le Mans sub-theme, but also forms part of a growing Dempsey-Proton collection, especially the cars with the blue and grey harlequin liveries that date back to 2015. In 2018, young Australia driver Matt Campbell stormed to a GTE Am win at Le Mans with his Dempsey-Proton teammates Christian Ried and Julien Andlauer in their Porsche 911 RSR. Porsche factory driver Campbell went on to partner Christian Ried in 2019 and 2020, where they finished 4th and 2nd in class respectively. In 2021, Matt Campbell returned to Le Mans for the 4th time with Dempsey Proton Racing, partnering once again with Christian Ried in a brand new car. This time their co-driver was Jaxon Evans from New Zealand. After qualifying in the top three in class on the three previous appearances, they qualified a lowly 12th in the GTE Am class for the 2021 race, putting them 50th in the grid. Christian Ried took the first stint, but the tricky wet conditions saw the #77 Porsche fall back to 57th position by the end of the first hour. Campbell didn’t take the wheel until after four and a half hours, but by the end of six hours had moved the Porsche up to 44th position. At dawn, the #77 Porsche 911 RSR was the leading Porsche in the GTE Am class, but it was still only 5th in class and running 33rd overall. As Campbell himself noted after his second stint in the race, “The competition at the top of our GTE-Am class is very strong. We can only try to continue to get the most out of our car.” In the end, Campbell and his team mates couldn’t improve on 5th in class, but they did move up to 31st overall by the end of the race and were the first Porsche home in the GTE Am class. Car : 2021 #77 Porsche 911 (991) RSR Team : Dempsey Proton Racing Drivers : Christian Ried (D)/ Matt Campbell (AUS)/ Jaxon Evans (NZL) Qualifying : 50th Result : 31st (5th in GTE Am) Model : Spark (S8270)

Its a cracking livery that though truth be told i prefer the older 935. 2021 was not Porsches year in Am GT40 is wonderful but i find the Mk.IV the least pretty of the variants

One of the more recognisable liveries of this decade's LM. Fantastic model too.

That looks good for a modern Porsche, I like the livery a lot. Re meeting Mr Henn it may well have been 1984 as I had bought a 1961 Impala coupe and would have gone to my friend's emporium in it for a social evening and perhaps a few parts. I went to Le Mans in 1983/4 & 86 on a coach trip organised by a chap from the Aston Martin Owners Club, they were good fun. Oh and I got to see some pretty good cars and drivers.

Any Matt Campbell LM car is a must have for you Ian, so I'm pleased to see this one here. You have caused me to re-look at the one car I have in my collection that was driven by Campbell as I though it might have been the same one. Mine is the car he co-drove in 2018, however the livery is all but the same - I hadn't realised that this particular car's livery had been in place for as long as it has.

IV as well. One of the more recognisable liveries of this decade's LM. Fantastic model too. The Proton livery is becoming a Le Mans staple Tom. It's nice to have a few, but I'm not sure I'd want one from every year. Cool looking livery! Nice model! It's not bad Julio and as Tom said, very recognisable now. I guess the days of Le Mans cars being prepared in a rented lock-up are long gone. Any Matt Campbell LM car is a must have for you Ian, so I'm pleased to see this one here. There is much between Campbell's 2018 and 2021 cars Martin, but of course I had to have both. His switch to the green and orange livery for 2022 wasn't to everyone's liking, but it at least made for an interesting change.
