The Scagliettti bodied 290MM, 315S and 335S were basically the same car with the larger engined 1956 290MM ($.0L V12) being slightly upgraded (brakes and cooling if memory serves) to the 315S (3.8L V12) and 335S (3.5L V12) which I believe we identical other than for engine size. I think that the model makers took advantage of the similarities to produce multiple models from the same basic molds. Nice models all the same!

Between Art Model 290 MM and 860 Monza virtually there are only subtle differences when it come to the casting. 315/335 is a bit different than the 290 MM/860 though.
Anyway, it is a common practice for M4 to offer same casting under as different models. For example Ferrari 250P/330P, Ferrari 166 MM/195, Ferrari 250 LM/275 LM, Ferrari 275 P2/330 P2 nd others.

Very nice Lusso but I have never been sure about the colour, perhaps the real car needs to be seen in the flesh so to speak. The Lusso is one of my favourite 60s Ferraris, I think I have one but in the usual red. Mind you it was free as a friend gave it to me.

The Lusso is my favourite Ferrari bar none ever since I ran across one on my bike ride to work a few decades ago. I love the colours- a Lusso doesn't have to be red.

I love the Lusso, especially if it isn’t red!

I had the Hot Wheels 1:18 and it was almost the same shade brown metallic. The real car is Marrone Metallizzato thus the color should be metallic. 250 Lusso is a favorite of mine as well, I will get a red one despite agreeing that other colors like silver, blue fit better. Here is another Lusso, this time from USSR. This one was made in Ukraine SSR in the late 80s. Soviet models are prone to zinc pest. I had one Lusso which disintegrated while trying to repaint it.
Fun fact, the model is a remake of the Politoys Lusso. I am not aware how the dyes and tooling went to the Soviet Union. They just made copies or license was purchased?
After all Soviets were known from copying/reverse engineering almost anything western, from apliances to aircrafts ( B-29 Superfortress -> Tupolev Tu 4). On the other hand, there was a warm connection between Italians and the Soviets, the Fiat 124 license was purchased and the Lada brand was created.

I had a few of those copies too, notably an Alfa Giulia SS. There used to be a Russian guy at our local swapmeets selling all kinds of interesting Russian diecast.

That Soviet Lusso is quite an attractive novelty!

I have the Politoys Lusso that I bought new, it was quite expensive for a young boy as I was then, mine is metallic green and is still in excellent shape. I am not sure if the Russians had a licence but they did make a number of copies of Politoys models, I think the only one I have is a Mk1 Cortina.
