I already showed this Ferrari in the late forum. By that time it still had the original Solido wheels. Those were quite good by 1970´s standards, but now we fortunately have a wide range of acessories, including these excelent Campagnolo wheels. It definitely looks better now With Solido wheels With Renaissance wheels

You've elevated this far beyond its humble toy origins. Fantastic looking model!

You've elevated this far beyond its humble toy origins. Fantastic looking model! Thanks, Tom. But if you look close you see that this Solido model has a fine shape of the real car. More than just a toy, I guess...

The Solido 312 P was one of the first Solidos I bought back in the mid-70's. Wish I had kept it for nostalgia reasons. Your wheel upgrade looks great!

Great change. Renaicense wheels, to keep in mind! Renaissance, Gemini Model Cars and Arena Models provide an excelent range of acessories, and online shopping works good with these.

More than just a toy, I guess... Solido was one of the first to bridge the gap between toy and collector's model. I think Brumm and Rio were the first mainstream collector's model makers with no opening features, realistic colour schemes and more detail. When Solido introduced their Age d'or series, they went for the collector's market too. Solido models were like Schuco and Schabak, more realistic than most.

I still have my 312P that I bought new in the 70s, it is still in excellent condition. Solido made very nice models back then which were pretty realistic and I bought many of them. The wheels upgrade is great, I shall have to check out what these accessory companies offer.
