IXO have launched another Le Mans series in France. The models are all usual IXO/Altaya models we've seen before, but what's new is this Bartoletti transporter which comes as a gift for subscribers. It will be interesting to see how this compares to to the Exoto when it eventually appears.

It will compare to the Exoto exactly as the 642 Scuderia Maserati did from the other partswork series. Generally a fair model, welcomed for those who dreamed about the Exoto but couldn't or didn't want to make the investment. But who once held an Exoto in his hands knows that pictures don't do justice for it, their transporters are in a league of their own even today, almost a decade after they were launched. All those intricate details inside out, the functional transmission and ventilator behind the grid, the detailed chassis and base are things you can't appreciate in the photographs, and I highly doubt Ixo bothered with any of them.

There is no doubt the Exoto is a jewel and I love mine, but they are getting rare and very expensive, so tough for relatively new collectors.
I’d expect IXO will produce multiple version, just like Norev did with the 1:18, so in my mind it might be a good way to add some of the secondary liveries like David Piper or JCB that I don’t want to pay Exoto money for.

This - if it appears in other liveries then i'm going to be in the market

I bought the Exoto a few months ago from a guy that I deal with at my local toyfair at a very fair price as it has a few minor defects and it is lovely but it's good to see Ixo making it. Hopefully they will make multiple versions and as Andy says I'm going to be in the market too.
