Visited my local IKEA last week and was pleasantly surprised to see some new releases that fit into OUR world!
It seems they are already popular with those displaying anime figures and the like, something I know nothing about...
Anyway, I like these and their prices, what are your thoughts? Also, have read the Detolf may be soon discontinued, so perhaps these are the replacements?

More pricy than Detolf and the same volume (the first one that is), but they look very good.

Hi Tom,
They are a clean and business-like aren't they? That's a look I admire and they are even big enough to display some dioramas or a few 1:18s. Even better than the Detolf, it seems it's much easier to ad extra shelves!
Strangely enough, the Detolf cost more than the Blalinden on these shores. $99 vs $129. Fine print on the Detolf states 'last chance to buy' so I assume the talk on youtube may be accurate.
I actually purchased several Detolfs back in 2012 and never took them out of the box. Actually returned them for a credit years later - pretty lenient return policy
I'm very much in the scouting phase for cabinets since my new home will have a room dedicated to cars/books/computer/tabletop photo rig.
Apart from these cabinets, the IKEA visit was very underwhelming compared to my past impressions. Seems like everything has risen in price (no surprise there) but at the current ask, very little personally seemed a good value.

Yes, I really like the look. Restrained styling that doesn't distract from the contents. Adding more shelves is a major bonus, that's a pain with the Detolf.
If you think Ikea is now too expensive, take a look at the competition...

They look like nice cabinets if you don't want anything taller. I have several of these cabinets (like pictured), although they are getting pretty expensive now. They hold a great deal, are very sturdy and fairly easy to assemble. Nice double glass doors, pretty dust proof. The drawback is that shelves are not adjustable (although one could re-engineer something) and have no lights. I have however put in LED lights which have illuminated the cabinet from top to bottom. Free delivery for Amazon Prime members. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPGP4KA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Our closest Ikea is three hours and heavy traffic away. Here's one in action, although its not the entire cabinet.

They both look great! IKEA has only a couple of stores in Mexico, all of them far from where I live, but there are rumors that they will open a local store soon! If that happens I will certainly consider one (or more) of those cabinets!

I admittedly have a dust 'phobia' when it comes to display of any non-toy quality cars. Most cases can be made nearly dustproof with some diligence and imagination. They both look great! If that happens I will certainly consider one (or more) of those cabinets! They do Julio! It's really fun to plan/dream my car room in my new home! I will be having the house plans drawn by the architect/engineer by the end of the year. The design is a blend of several homes that I've been following and I've tweaked it to my needs (and budget too). My lot (purchased back in 2019) is nearly fully prepared. Have had to remove many trees (including stumps). Still hundreds of beautiful trees remaining as the lot is 2.5 acres. It's going to hopefully rectify the faults of my old home and property where I lived for 24 years until 2020. I really look forward to home ownership again, despite rising costs for insurance and property taxes. My restraint in spending over the last few years is in anticipation of this personally enormous undertaking.
