As Martin says the mince pie is sweet these days. Not sure when it switched over from mincemeat as it was traditionally Personally i like the iced ones, the puff pastry ones, the lattice ones, the shortcrust pastry ones and the homemade ones. Don't think i've missed any Great to see someone being open minded 😂

That looks mouthwatering! I don't have too many 'bad' habits...teetotaler and don't smoke, but I do love the sweets, particularly baked goods and this looks incredible! Am I on the correct forum, ahahah!

Well after all the talk about mince pies, I've just returned from the cinema, without a pie! Am glad I swotted up on my Ferrari history before seeing this film. No character introductions so you have to be on the ball from the off as to who is who.
Personally I do have an affection for this period or should I say Italian style in this period. The characters, cars, buildings, furniture, props all fitted the bill.
It will be interesting to read what others think of this film but for me I was engrossed from start to finish. It sort of confirmed my need for, read the book, got the T shirt, now I've seen the film. I like it when the pieces of history's jigsaw puzzle all come together. Especially viewed from Ferrari's family life perspective if the film is to belived. Gets my vote.

Saw the film last night with (long-suffering) Mrs Alfaholic and my movie-obsessed sister. All three gave it a general thumbs-up. OK, it is a movie and not a documentary, but on the whole the story sort of represented many things well. The "pack racing" and at times child-like accident scenes were somewhat at odds with some exceptional scenes of racing and events - Behra's Maserati bouncing off a rock like it was made of rubber with the crash test dummy lolling about like should have been picked up in editing . The cars and scenery were fantastic, and yes Miss Cruz and her Giulietta should be nominated for an Oscar .

I saw the movie this week with 12 other members of our model club and generally the reviews were 3.5 - 4 out of five. The racing fans generally gave it a lower score, while those who knew little of the facts and just enjoyed the story generally gave it a higher score.
As Martin said, most of the Mile Miglia scenes were great, but some of the others looked amateurish. My main bugbear was the CGI crash scene, which frankly were very poor. I think the movie could have done without them - sometimes less is more.

I was finally able to watch this film last night and I really enjoyed it! ❣️
This thread is completely out of place, I looked for it last night and couldn’t find it! It should be moved to the Off-Topic area!

I still haven't got round to watching it yet. Shame on me! It is worth the time Paul - visually it is stunning. While the racing may not be 100% accurate, some of the other items are amazing, e.g. the barber that shaves Adam Driver (Enzo) in one scene is the son of the guy who used to shave Enzo himself.
