Picked up a couple of models via eBay recently, had a few from this seller now (including the three 935s I pictured previously if anyone saw that post). One of the models was listed as a Petty Plymouth Superbird. These are fairly iconic vehicles although I am not a NASCAR aficionado by any stretch and due to this, I did not notice (plus the original box not being fully featured in the eBay advert) that it's actually a Daytona Charger with a Petty livery on it, instead of whatever it originally came with. The differences are not hugely noticeable to anyone that is not familiar with the cars as they are very similar but the bonnet and side vents do differ. I got it for far far less than the only Spark Petty Plymouth that's up at the moment and NASCAR Superbirds in 1/43 seem to be very rare, so would you guys keep this or not?

So it looks like someone finished a Dodge Charger Daytona in Petty colors. If you are not big into Nascar, only wanted this iconic car represented in your collection on the cheap then this is a great way to do it. Only you can decide if knowing what you know about it will bother you enough to get rif pof it. Here is the Spark version. And here are some other Starter Petty cars

I would keep it, it looks okay and good enough to be put into a display cabinet etc.

Thanks everyone. I will most likely keep it as it is for now and this seems to be the general consensus from everybody else as well - if I ever do pick up the spark, I don't think it would be a huge effort to move this one to an accurate Charger Daytona livery.
I just wish the classic American racers Spark do weren't so expensive! The Petty Roadrunner on there at the moment is about £200 and things like the trans-am Challenger (the bright green one) is around £150+ as well!

I hadn't realised that the classic American racers were so pricey now. I bought the Petty Superbird not that long ago for a two figure sum, think it may have come from a live online auction. I have the Trans-Am Challenger too, mine is I think an older SMTS white metal model. I'm not selling them though, being a US vehicle enthusiast (I do own an old Impala) means they are here to stay. Mind you it's very rare that I let anything go!

It does make you scratch your head and ask "why"? If you're going to go to all the trouble to build the kit, paint it and decal it, why would you use the wrong kit as the base?
