Very impressive display! Lots to take in, it will require multiple viewings. Collections have a way of taking over don't they? 😁

Absolutely wonderful!!! What a great collection!!! 🖤 … I’ve just taken a very slow second look at each of your photos, Paul! I’m really impressed by your fabulous collection, the Corgi cabinets with all the variations are beyond belief! I really enjoyed looking at your Rolls-Royce shelves and had a great time trying to identify the rest of your models, even some of the boxes! What’s the story behind those large, plaster like, models of Anglia wagons? Do the models in that small cabinet in your room have a special significance? Do you have friends and/or relatives that enjoy looking at your fabulous display regularly? Do some people visit you because of your models? Thank you so much for sharing these photos with us!

Thanks Julio, it has taken many years to get to this point and as you know a fair bit of money. But I enjoy it, indeed tomorrow I will be visiting the toyfair/swapmeet in my local town so more stuff will be heading home with me. I knew you would be checking out the Rolls-Royce shelves, I think there are Bentleys there too. I always liked Corgi and Dinky as of course being English shops selling them were in every city, town and village. I know you had some! Being a boy I did wreck some and repaint badly others. Not all of those old models are original, I do have some repaints and Code 3 among them. I don't have all the boxes either but envy those that do! I bought the large plaster Anglias from a guy at a car show back in, I think, the 90s. He also had smaller saloon versions that are painted, in fact I found two only yesterday. I never saw that guy again so I do not know if he was trying to start a business or he just made them for a short while. I can confirm that the large models are pretty heavy! The small cabinet has no real significance Julio, a friend gave it to me and I decided that most of the models that go into it are those made by the more obscure manufacturers such as Lone Star, Budgie, Morestone etc. There are some Matchbox in there which don't fit the criteria but they had to go somewhere. My brother visited but wasn't too interested in the model rooms but he is not a car guy like me. Friends seem to like it, indeed a friend of over 45 years visited recently, he was familiar with the displays in my old house but I think he was astounded by the new display cabinets and the contents. He even filmed some of them to show friends down south. Some of my friends in the village have visited and seen the rooms and seem to be impressed. I do ask people not to tell others about my models though. You're welcome, as and when I feel like it I shall show in detail what is on the shelves and indeed above the cabinets such as the old model garages etc.

I guess it’s precisely that sense of years collecting what makes your cabinets particularly attractive! I cherish my old Corgis too, although I don’t have nearly as many as you do, their charm is simply unbeatable!

I think I got the late ticket to the museum. Like everyone else, this far surpasses what I was thinking was going to be something special!!! You obviously have been at this a long time to have the variety and breadth of brands and marques. It seems quite heavy on the American angle and that's no surprise given your 1:1 classic! It would be great fun to actually see this all in person and it would have many times the drama, especially so just to chat cars with someone as enthusiastic as yourself So many here really have amazing collections and display, lots of inspiration for when I have the chance...

OK, so I Think I might need to catch up with Stewart at his "local" and spend a bit of time going over your photos with a beverage or two! - a chilled foreign one though, I can't come at this warm heavy beer thing . There are some proper Gems in your cabinets and I like the variety from newer models to the older Dinky "toys", etc. Just wonderful.

Wow, just wow.
I am hoping that one day I will have a room of my own where I can display my models. For now, everything is hidden in boxes.

Super stuff Paul. Looks a lot like mine and any feelings of guilt (admittedly small) about being a collectorholic just vapourised!

Very impressive indeed Paul. Interesting reading your story. To some degree I think we are all in the same situation. We amass in quantity only to feel some what reserved in who we advertise and invite to come and view our pride and joy. It is always a concern how much we let on for fear of break in etc. It is very gratifying though when genuine folk admire all the hard work.
