As soon as I saw Paul's I had to have one, especially as I already had this from the same year
Trofeu - Vauxhall Chevette HS 2300 - 1978 RAC Rally - J.McRae & I.Muir - DNF
The Bedford CF was introduced in 1969 to compete directly with the Ford Transit and as like all of these types of vehicles it came with a range of engine, transmission, chassis and body options. Based loosely on a combination of uprated Vauxhall Victor suspension and Chevrolet Van styling the CF would remain in production until 1987 marking the end of production of Vauxhall designed vehicles
Ixo PW - Bedford CF - Dealer Team Vauxhall

Nice pair, well I would say that wouldn't I? Trofeu have been making a fair few rally Chevettes in various liveries in recent times. Lots of Opel Asconas too.

Wonderful set. The Chevette dates from my favourite era of rallying - screaming 4-cylinder engines in everyday cars, just perfect!

They most certainly are that!
Cool looking van! It is that for sure Nice pair, well I would say that wouldn't I? Trofeu have been making a fair few rally Chevettes in various liveries in recent times. Lots of Opel Asconas too. Thank you and yes i do believe you would. Thanks for the heads up on the buyer as well I've seen quite a few in the announcements but this is the only one i've plumped for so far. An Ascona would be welcome here
Wow, Rally Chevette..... not two words I ever expected to associate together. Love the quirky! Well you have to make do with what you have and Vauxhall had these. With the 2.3 litre in them they went pretty well Excellent duo. Would love to own those. Each one on its own is nice but they are more than the sum of their parts together so when i saw the van i knew i had to have it Wonderful set. The Chevette dates from my favourite era of rallying - screaming 4-cylinder engines in everyday cars, just perfect! Just before my favourite era but i do like this era a lot too - 131, Stratos, Escorts, Chevettes, Asconas, Mantas - whats not to like

Tyrrell had in partnership with Matra won the 1969 F1 World Championship with a DFV powered Matra chassis, however when Matra required Tyrrell to use their engine for 1970 the chassis was quickly dropped in favour of a March as Tyrrell felt that the Matra engine was a significant downgrade compared to the DFV. Development of an in-house chassis started in 1970 resulting in the debut of the DFV powered 001 in late 1970 though it failed to finish any of the three races that year though Jackie Stewart would finish 2nd in one in South Africa, the first race of the 1971 season. In the interim, Tyrrell had been busy designing a new car similar to the 001, the 002 & 003 which both had a redesigned nose, thinner monocoque and a longer wheelbase and in the case of the 002 a longer monocoque to accommodate the taller Cevert. The 002 would debut in Ceverts hands at the first Grand Prix of 1971 in South Africa where he would fail to finish followed by a 7th in Spain and then two further DNFs in Monaco and the Dutch Grand Prix.
The next race, the French Grand Prix was held at the new Paul Ricard circuit and Cevert would qualify 7th and whilst Stewart drove off into the distance, including setting the fastest lap on the second tour and opening a 10-second advantage after 7 laps, Cevert had to work his way up through the field securing 2nd after 28 laps, and they would finish in that order with Stewart taking the win by 28 seconds. Spark - Tyrrell 002 - 1971 French Grand Prix - F.Cevert - 2nd

I went to the Nürburgring in 1971 for the German GP at the tender age of 16, it was a coach trip offered for £5 from Brands Hatch. My dad had to drive me from out family holiday in Hastings in his Mk4 Zephyr to drop me off and of course pick me up. Bet that pleased him! I travelled alone but struck up a friendship with an older guy and although I could speak and understand German quite well (my second best O-level exam pass) I was a bit shy about using it. By sheer coincidence when I asked if anyone spoke English a German guy who was an English teacher heard me and asked us to join him and his family for the day. Anyway if I remember correctly Stewart won the race with Cevert following him home in second in these Tyrrells. Nice model as usual by Spark.

Right in my wheelhouse when it comes to F1. Ace model. Mine too. We have very similar tastes in a lot of our collection interests Vauxhall pair (from different brands) are a perfect match! That they are BB. Make a nice set I went to the Nürburgring in 1971 for the German GP at the tender age of 16, it was a coach trip offered for £5 from Brands Hatch. Anyway if I remember correctly Stewart won the race with Cevert following him home in second in these Tyrrells. Nice model as usual by Spark. That must have been some experience. Particularly the trip up and down the A21 which still to this day in places resembles a country lane I've seen old footage from back then of the Nordschliefe with its lines of bushes acting as the safety barriers! Just wonderful. Another talent taken way to young. Yes very much so. Avoidable too That it is
