I like that. Mmmm, have I got a Scheckter car in my F1 collection? Nice isn't it. Do you have a 76 P34? If so it's likely it's a Scheckter car That’s a great looking livery! Very JPS Lotus I think I recently added the Canada 1977 winning car with the engine covered. One of the most handsome of 1970's F1 cars and quite possibly the final instalment in my 70's F1 sub collection. A fine add sir being it's final win and of course on home territory. I'm sure there are some more 70s F1 oddities that have yet to be modelled that may catch your eye Not surprisingly I have an iteration of this car. The redoubtable Mr Scheckter is highly revered in these parts! Can't quite put my finger on the attraction... Great model of a happy time in F1. Scott Not surprised at all, all things considered Ah the halcyon days when one could buy a DFV and get an F1 car built if you had the money. These days you cannot even get an entry into the closed shop of greed. I always liked the look of this car and of course it was most effective. Nice model. Oh and I can remember Scheckter racing in the Escort Mexico series back in about 1971, have a feeling that he won the championship. Also seem to recall that he won the F2 race at Crystal Palace in a McLaren, think that was the weekend that McLaren won a triple with wins in the Monaco GP and the Indy 500 too. As a McLaren fan that made a young me happy. Indeed and one of the later examples of that philosophy before corporate money took over the game Scheckter was a very good driver in multiple disciplines who was never it seemed afraid to say exactly what he thought
That’s very very nice indeed I think so too One of the proper free thinkers of F1. A must have. Yes very much so and yes it was a must. I have the same car from MC from 78 with Rahal at the wheel though this has a lot more finesse

Once their contract with Pontiac had finished, Spice took the opportunity to develop a new car for the C1 Group C class which became the SE89C and dependent on engine it could be found in C1, C2 & IMSA Lights classes. The C1 car powered by the latest John Nicholson prepared 3.5 litre Cosworth DFZ debuted as works cars in 1989 with two cars at Suzuka which failed to finish, followed by both at Dijon where one came home 14th and then both at Le Mans. Chassis No.4 was entered for the driving trio of Gordon Spice, Ray Bellm & Lyn St. James who would qualify 33rd which translated to 31st on the grid only a few places ahead of the C2 class SE89Cs which was perhaps no surprise as it had been found despite more power and less weight they had almost exactly the same top speed. They got away slowly gaining only 1 place in the first two hours allowing the other C1 Spice to briefly pass before it hit engine troubles dropping it to the back before it eventually retired, but then they found some pace and by 4 hours in they had reached 20th and despite loosing a few places by halfway they were in 17th. Then it began to unravel just like the sister car as engine issues dropped them back a few places then into retirement in the 16th hour after completing 229 laps.

I love that they're now doing the less obvious choices, as witnessed by this one. Fab model, I can easily see why you picked this.

I have added a few Spice cars to my collection of late, this one included. Makes for a very interesting C1 and C2 collection.

Very tempting, especially with the added attraction of female driver Lynn St. James. Another one for Stewart's Female Drivers collection perhaps?

Bizarre did release a few Spice models but it's good that Spark are now filling in the gaps. Thanks Good looking racer, I like it a lot. Can only agree with this Yep, that'll do - there's nothing but goodness here. And this I have added a few Spice cars to my collection of late, this one included. Makes for a very interesting C1 and C2 collection. Yes it does I concur. Another one coming right up Very tempting, especially with the added attraction of female driver Lynn St. James. Another one for Stewart's Female Drivers collection perhaps? I would suggest it would be if not already on its way.
The overall package including the drivers made it a must for me

Spice Engineering was formed in the early 80s by Gordon Spice & Ray Bellm and would debut in the C2 class of the World Championship in 1984 using a Tiga chassis and would take five class wins that year and then in 1985 they would help to develop the new Tiga GC85 with which they would win five more class victories in 1985 including Le Mans and that would be enough to win the teams championship.
1986 would develop their own car for 1986 for both the C2 class and IMSA Lights where the team used Pontiac engines (and used the name Fiero) and in return received engineering assistance from GM including wind tunnel access. The resulting car the SE86C would feature a 3.3 litre Cosworth DFL outside the IMSA Series and would debut at Monza in April 1986 with Spice and Bellm driving where they would finish 14th, a feat they repeated at Silverstone 2 weeks later with a class win to boot. Le Mans was next, so the duo recruited Jean-Michel Martin as the third driver, and they would put it 23rd and 1st in class on the grid and in the first hour they would maintain the class lead and gain 8 places. Then a clutch hydraulic line failed costing them 15 minutes and 23 places and a fine recovery drive would see them get back up to 23rd and 2nd in class by the end of the 5th hour. Then the clutch failed costing them 2 and half hours and 12 places and after that they essentially bumped along at the back gaining places through attrition and then losing them due to a hydraulic system failure, then the starter motor, then the ignition control and then finally the clutch again.
Despite all of this they finally made it home crossing the line 21st which became 19th and last classified finisher and 5th in class after 258 laps and after all their travails they were most surprised to win the Index of Energy Efficiency.

I was at the 1986 LM24H and thus would have seen this car, that said I have no memory of it but then I am an old geezer now. Another lovely model and bearing in mind that I owned a few Pontiacs I approve of their logo on the car.

Once again Mr Spice and Mr Bellm are busy spending their kids inheritance on racing! At least they didn't waste it. Like this one a lot . Not tempted much as I have a couple already that achieved good results. It is a keeper though.
Cheers from the Still Frozen North.

Another lovely model and bearing in mind that I owned a few Pontiacs I approve of their logo on the car. As it was circulating at the back, that's perhaps no surprise when there was a Porsche vs Jaguar battle going on up front Technically due to the GM sponsorship this was a Spice-Fiero and in addition to the badge it has a number of styling cues from said car. Such as round wheels.......
Like that a lot, very good livery too. Glad you like it Much nicer livery than the last one On a par for me. Both suit the shape Great driver line-up and a great car for the Livery thread . Oh yes. I can use it repeatedly Once again Mr Spice and Mr Bellm are busy spending their kids inheritance on racing! At least they didn't waste it. Like this one a lot . Not tempted much as I have a couple already that achieved good results. It is a keeper though. Cheers from the Still Frozen North. And why not. Can't take it with you I thought as it was the first Spice at LM, and it made it home it deserved a place in the cabinet despite the effectively last place finish
