You know this is right up my alley. Excellent, would love to have this. I do indeed. I knew you would like it That it is I also have a soft spot for the Quattro. Nice model, like it a lot. A man of taste Very neat and tidy. Almost two neat and tidy...maybe they should have put some fake mud on it! It is very neat, and it would have looked like this up to about 5 seconds after the start of the first stage. I don't think the market for weathered models is that strong though.

Marc Duez & Willy Lux competed in the 1983 Belgian Championship in a Schmidt prepared A1 Quattro with sponsorship from Belga and would win the opening round, the Boucles de Spa by ten minutes and the pair would follow this up with another victory at the second round, the Haspengouw Rally where they took the flag by a little over 2 and half minutes. This was to be the highlight of the season for them, as they finished fourth at the next rally and then failed to finish any more that year due to recurring gearbox issues.

Very nice, the Belga livery always looks good in my eyes. Did it come with the Belga decals already in place? I ask as I tend to avoid models that need to have decals applied as I am pretty useless at doing so with any accuracy.

I'm with Anglia Paul - I have always liked the Belga livery and this one is no exception.

Came as you see it
Not bad is it That looks ace, I have a few Belga-liveried Audis but this would be very welcome. I think this makes 5 for me. All Duez cars mostly from 83 I'm with Anglia Paul - I have always liked the Belga livery and this one is no exception. It is a good livery as noted above. Seems to work on anything

Reigning World Champion Hannu Mikkola entered both the World and British Rally Championship for 1984, although he would not run a full schedule for either. For the British Championship he competed in 4 rounds, 3 of which were in A2 Quattros being the National Breakdown (1st), The Welsh Rally (1st) and The Scottish Rally (1st) with Walter Rohrl standing in for him at the Ulster Rally (1st) in a Sport Quattro. Mikkola first competed in a Sport Quattro in the 1000 Lakes that year when he failed to finish, but he would then win the German Rally and so hopes were high for the Manx Rally the final rally of the British Championship, but it was not to be as on the 4th stage the gearbox failed and that was that which meant Mikkola would finish 2nd in the British Championship.

Very predictably love that. Must’ve been frustrating to be competing in the upper echelons just to have your car decide that it's done.

Ah the Short Quattro. Nice model and even better that it is a Hannu Mikkola car, a great driver and apparently a nice man. And he liked Escorts so obviously a man of taste.
