I'm generally not a Hot Wheels collector, but have collected a small number of their cars that have a Le Mans connection. In the usual Hot Wheels way, these cars often have similar liveries to the actual Le Mans cars, but often the racing number or other details are different. For my local model club display, I decided to pair the Hot Wheels car with it's 1:43 cousin. There's potentially around 10 more cars I could add, but unless I find them cheaply I probably won't chase them down.

Well done! By the way, I’m not a Hot Wheels collector either!

Nice idea! I have a few HW, local discount store has 'em for .75 so I tend to look for interesting stuff. I usually end up with a Matchbox rather than a HW though, they do more realistic models.

That's a great display. I can now see why you are my HW buyer's agent .

Cool stuff but like you, I would not chase as it would be a never ending quest and in the end, all you have is a bunch of HW's. But they are a cheap and easy diversion.

Well done! By the way, I’m not a Hot Wheels collector either! These HW have a habit of sneaking up on you Julio. One minute you have a few in your shopping trolley, next minute they've taken over your house! Nice idea! I have a few HW, local discount store has 'em for .75 so I tend to look for interesting stuff. I usually end up with a Matchbox rather than a HW though, they do more realistic models. The cheapest HW here are the equivalent of Euro 1.20 here Tom. Several years ago an economist created the Big Mac index or real exchange rates by comparing the price of burgers around the world. Someone should do the same with HW's. That's a great display. I can now see why you are my HW buyer's agent . Only your HW agent Martin? - I thought you had granted me exclusivity over all your buying . Cool stuff but like you, I would not chase as it would be a never ending quest and in the end, all you have is a bunch of HW's. But they are a cheap and easy diversion. As I said Jeff, there are only about 10 that I'm chasing, so the list is limited. However, most of those that are missing are Ferraris (250 LM's, 333sp's) and they to go for closer to $20, which for HW is a step too far for me.

I think HW are usually EUR 2ish here Ian, if you want the latest and more choice than at the discount store.

Very nice "big and little" display Indeed these little castings can suddenly fill your home, admittedly has somewhat happened to me, as these are fairly cheap and too easy to get compared to ordering 1/43 models online. There are no 1/43 models anywhere near me locally available unfortunately. First 1/64 I bought after my 80's childhood toycars was in 2005, but in last couple of years, have added surprisingly many Hotwheels, Matchbox and Majorette castings. Also few Siku, and even higher quality castings, like Autoworld, Greenlight and MiniGT from online, while ordered 1/43 models as well. I don't really "chase" these, I just check from time to time the toycar department in local shops if there's anything interesting, maybe a habbit I should quit doing haha. Looks like the availability is quite random, every casting doesn't seem to end up on the shelves here. Haven't seen here yet even the Hotwheels 1/43 models. Back in 2000's and early 2010's, there was some 1/43's in local shops here, like Hongwell Cararama and Welly models, but they are all gone for some reason. Same with 1/18 scale models, only 1/24 Welly diecasts are in one local shop here and even that selection is very limited. There haven't been any magazine models either here after Champion Rallycars suddenly ended in 2011, and James Bond car collection ended even before that in January 2011.

Nice display Ian and a splendid idea re pairing them up. I don't normally buy HW but recently I bought two or three of their premium models, either because I owned the car in question or saw it race way back when. I do still have my original HW cars from when I first saw them appear in the shops in about 1969, they're tucked away in a box somewhere.

I would never have given Hot Wheels a second glance Ian but the words "Le Mans" were in your subject title. Well I never, very
