Doubt any of those came with an 8-track player. I saw a photo I was in from about 1974-75. Long hair, wide bottomed pants, we thought we were cool. These models on the other hand really define cool!

Nice adds I can certainly relate to (well apart from the italian entries😁)
I have a bunch of Holden Bathurst nuggets and Moffat Fords & his Mazdas😀 but post his XW/XY variants. Also have nearly all the XD/XE greens & blues 😁

If I recall correctly those Falcons were sold in the UK albeit in very small numbers along with the Fairmont, that said I haven't seen one for years now. I did drive my friend's Fairmont wagon with its extremely tired V8, doubt that it has survived. Nice selection, love the Suds and I do have a Solido one in purple bought new, they also did that white Garden Stores Alfetta GTV which I also have owned from new. The Capri is nice, not sure what race my one is from though. I have many RS2600 versions, mainly Trofeu models. Too many really :-)

In 1974 I was a 10yo so probably wasn't too worried what I was wearing!! I was still watching motorsport on TV when I could though. I thought the Falcons may get your interest Paul. Nice adds I can certainly relate to (well apart from the italian entries😁) I have a bunch of Holden Bathurst nuggets and Moffat Fords & his Mazdas😀 but post his XW/XY variants. Also have nearly all the XD/XE greens & blues 😁 Stay tuned Lars, the XDs and XEs will be along soon. Excellent. I wish those M4 models could still be found here. I'm please I grabbed them when I could a few years ago Tom, it seems that only the Solido versions crop up these days. Those Alfetta GTVs look fabulous! I often bemoan the fact that Spark/Minichamps haven't done racing versions Julio, but when I look at my collection there are quite a few in there from M4 and others! We had several Falcon Station Wagons when I was growing up, which as a Falcon fan in racing I was happy about! I would love to have a fleet of the racing Capris (I have one other LM car) but am sticking with Alfas these days.

Very nice! Interesting, those Torana LXes appear to be Opel Manta Bs with a different front end.

Excellent, wish I had some of those Falcons and Toranas but I don't think that those AutoArt models were sold here, I never saw them in model shops. I did manage to pick some up via the internet or when I visited Australia in 2004 and 2007, I found model shops in Sydney and Melbourne and Adelaide. The BBC used to show Bathurst on their Saturday afternoon sports show 'Grandstand' which I would eagerly try to catch even if a long race was condensed into 10-15 minutes. I enjoyed my two trips especially as I won return flights to Sydney with Qantas for the 2007 one. I met Harry Firth and Bob Jane, both were very nice guys. Oh I'm in the red camp Martin, sorry.

Very nice! Interesting, those Torana LXes appear to be Opel Manta Bs with a different front end. The first Torana was very heavily based on the vauxhall Viva in 1967 Tom, but by the time of the "LX" I'm pretty sure it was a Holden-specific platform. There are elements of the Ascona in the 4-door Torana and I'm sure Holden spoke with their GM cousins at the time, so the Manta call is fair. Excellent, wish I had some of those Falcons and Toranas but I don't think that those AutoArt models were sold here, I never saw them in model shops. I'm not sure that "Harry Firth" and "nice guy" has ever appeared in the same sentence before Paul - he was a prickly character. With Holden having now disappeared totally, the poor "red" guys over here are struggling to come to terms with having to be Chevrolet Camaro fans now. . The popular AutoArts can now be hard to find over here and can fetch a pretty penny. The Capri trumps everything for me but what a group! Local Ford hero Allan Moffat did race one of those Capris over here for a year or so, and I believe that car is now in New Zealand. Capris or Falcon hardtops - either will do me. Ford fans still dine out on that result Paul. Mofftat's '77 winner is the same chassis that carried #1 in 1978 and #25 in 1979.
