They don't seem to have made it to the UK as yet. I'd like a red one as per my 1/1 4 candlelight 1.9 five

I can't recommend them because of their horrible customer service, but MCW ships to the UK again.

If I was buying anything it wouldn’t be from them, Julio. I'm not rewarding them for their bad service. Another one that should have been a 1:43 (and that will be kicked out if one will appear). After an Opel Kadett and a Volkswagen Jetta, I needed a safe, reliable and comfortable car for a new job that required a 100-mile round trip. The old Jetta, however well-maintained, wasn’t up to that. I’d saved up a little and drew up a shortlist consisting of a facelift E30 3-series, a Mercedes 190 and a third-gen Audi 80. The BMW salesmen decided to ignore me so I walked out, the Mercedes was flawed and the dealer was arrogant but the Audi dealer had this lovely 1988 1.8S in Tizian Red metallic with the Serret Sport package (beautiful beige velour sports seats, that rear seat with integrated mini-headrests, leather-covered steering wheel and gear knob, rear spoiler). The dealer gave me twice what I expected for the Jetta on an Audi that was already attractively priced and a deal was made. That car made me an Audi fan as I drove it to over 220,000 miles without a hiccup. I stupidly traded it in on a 90 quattro that turned out to be a bit of a well-disguised bodge job and that gave me lots of grief. I had lots of these 3rd gen 80s and 90s over the years, none as lovely as the first though. My last was a Cayenne Red metallic 2.0E, very close to the colour of this model (though mine was without its lovely luxurious beige velour interior) and mine even had these Aero alloys. When Andy informed me that Triple 9 had announced this model I knew that I had to have it. It doesn’t disappoint, the shape is nicely captured and the choice of colours is great. The tyres might be a bit to high profile and without a window tint it looks a bit naked. Still more than happy with it Triple 9 – Audi 80 1986 1:18 No, it wasn't laziness on my part to leave it on that ugly plinth for the pictures. These don't fit my lightbox so I photograph them on my product shoots against a larger backdrop. There's always some downtime on a shoot when stuff is being assembled and cleaned so I shoot a few models. Forgot to bring a screwdriver and my Swiss army knife doesn't have a crosshead.

Beautiful Audi model If it comes in 1/43, it going to be very tempting one for me too, even I don't have personal experience with this car, but it's good looking 80's car, and I like the design of this car. White and red were probably the most common colours here, at least I remember seeing mostly those colours in this car, and both colours seem to be available for this model, even with those basic trim level hubcaps, just as I remember them.

I'm really pleased to see that it's out and available. Like you, I have a major soft spot for these as a previous owner. They were great cars in their day

Sold one of my DSLR lenses to an ex-colleague recently and she thought my asking price was too low, so she got me this as a thank-you. I still wonder how she knew I didn't have this exact model yet... she wouldn't say. I now have the three versions of the Coupé GT in 1:18 (early car and first facelift by MCG, second facelift by Otto). In fact I owned a grey 1983 very briefly, quickly realising that it was in too bad a shape for me to fix up. I showed you the very early quad-headlight car earlier and the first facelift came in late 1982 for the ’83 model year. It featured some small improvements, the most important of which were the single-piece headlights that finally put out some actual light. They incorporated main beam and high beam in separate reflectors, with the indicators remaining in the bumpers. The front end looked cleaner as a result too. For the 1985 model year the Coupé GT was again facelifted, gaining new bumpers, a more rounded front end design and smoked rear lights. It lived on until it was replaced by the new-shape Coupé in 1988. Meanwhile, here is a nice and accurate rendition of the 1983 version. Somebody, do a 1:43! MCG - Audi Coupe GT 1:18

Thanks gents, it's one of my recent additions that I pick up to look at it frequently. The model does it justice. This was a joke gift from a friend. Years ago we were in my Audi 80 in Germany going to look at a 1:1 car for him to buy. We were running late for our appointment because we had to deal with some heavy traffic on the way so he asked me to step on it, he’d pay the fine. Five minutes later we were stopped by the police for speeding. That was my only fine in over 30 years of driving… and it was in the slowest of the 3rd generation Audi 80s that I’ve owned. I love this one, it looks great next to my burgundy 80. You can gift me anything for fun when it’s this nice Triple9 - Audi 80 Polizei 1989

Thanks Andy. I love that it has the basic plastic wheel trims instead of alloys. Easily the most gaudy special edition of the 924 with its white paint and wheels and a bright red interior, the 924 Martini edition now brings in tidy sums when a scarce example in good condition comes on the market. KK-Scale (Modellissimo’s own label) churns out massive amounts of castings in a variety of original colours for attractive prices, and often they get discounted to the level where they’re cheaper than a decent 1:43. My collection of 1:18s was reduced to only a few that I rotate between display and storage regularly, but this one’s a keeper KK-Scale - Porsche 924 Martini 1985
