I have been asked to show pictures of my collection displays by several and despite getting this accomplished at the speed of a glacier running uphill, I will work at it. I have about 25 wall display cases and several free standing display cabinets to photo. I thought to start off, I will give a orientation tour. I am extremely fortunate to have a decent sized space to display my collection and that space is divided between a garage which in addition to models, houses a couple of my 1:1 cars and my workshop/studio. So, here goes, please excuse the mess and try not to trip over anything. These two images are looking in the garage through the overhead doorway. I have acrylic display cases lining both walls which contain my Ferrari production and racing cars, Alfa Romeo, F1 cars, Cunningham, McLaren, Ford GT40, and Maserati as well as some other wall units that have my buses and some of our dairy memorabilia, as well as a couple dioramas. There is a large free standing display case which has more Alfa Romeo, Mercedes W196 & 300 SLR, Can Am and USRRC, Chaparral and more dioramas. I will take individual images of all these cases. You can see my walls are filled with racing art, car photos, auto and sports memorabilia. In case you are wondering, that chap standing there is Andy (at least that's what his suit says), our mascot. Attached to the garage is my workshop/studio. Here I have some wall cases, some free standing display cases and of course my work benches. Caught it in mid mess I'm afraid. Come on in! You can see walls get filled up in here too! The large cardboard box on the table is full of racing and automotive magazines I've sorted. Giving them away. I am also in the middle of sorting models to downsize the collection. Sorry you don't live closer. This is where I come when I want to thumb through books in my automotive library, or to turn Led Zeppelin up to 11! Even cases and art in the loo! Next time, we'll take a closer look at what's inside the cases.

Looks just like it did last fall. If anything, it is even more impressive in person. I feel lucky to have been able to see it first hand.

That is absolute sensory overload Jerry! Santa does not live on the North Pole after all So much to take in from the pics...no doubt that Jeff got the full experience when he stopped by. You also have 2 of the best looking (IMHO) 1:1 Jaguar's ever! Even the colours are right! Yes, would be a treat to see more and love your captions too!

I was going to say what an impressive man-cave, but I think I'll upgrade that to man-chateau . I was feeling a bit jealous that others have been able to visit, but if you are playing Led Zep at 11, I'll wait for another time . I like the use of the acrylic cases - must store that away for future reference.

Having another glance at this utopia in the AM. Noticed a few things in the XJ6C pic. First, haven't seen an AMANA product in years and that looks pretty new, so that was fun Also, those 'cross-laced' alloy rims look fantastic! Who makes those? What a great choice if going more modern.

I needed a freezer for crab and fish bait. 😁 The wheels on the XJC are BBS made for Jaguar and came on the XJS. So not that much more modern, but allow a bit wider track than the standard wheels. A bit sportier too.

Yes, I have seen those wheels on some XJ-S's before and they looked lovely in that application as well! Jerry, have you ever owned an XJ-S?

Apparently. Like you, I hadn't seen the name in quite awhile. No, have never owned an XJS. Came close a couple times. The XKR's I've had are built on that platform.

I like the use of the acrylic cases - must store that away for future reference. Thanks Martin! The music is usually pretty pedestrian, but every once in awhile a song comes on that takes me back to 1972! The acrylic cases I used are made by a US firm called Carney Plastics. They are pretty stout and the seams are "welded" rather than glued together. The 1/43 cases I have predominantly hold 54 cars. You can buy the cases either divided or undivided. The undivided ones are best for big American cars, etc. You can also get the cases with a mirror of clear back. I favor the mirrored back as they do a great job of reflecting the light, but play havoc on trying to do photos. I have a friend here from Australia. He's shipping a Jaguar back. Maybe see if we could get a few into the container? These images are of the cases in the lav and that is no reflection on their contents. These have recently replaced some old AutoArt cases both because they are bigger, but also because the AutoArt cases had started to delaminate and come apart. Unfortunately not without some collateral damage. This case is home to my Chevys, BMW and Porsche production cars, as well as Maserati, Lamborghini and some of the misc. sports and touring cars in the collection. Since this photo I have managed to get them all labeled. Who is that old gaffer in the background? Next to this case is its twin which holds Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin production cars and my Woody collection, as well as some other grand touring cars. Finally, this small case holds some of the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear and Dinky/Corgis I had as a kid, as well as some cars and trucks too big for the other cases. I forgot to take a photo of the case that holds my old Dinkys on the opposite wall.. Maybe next time.

Very nice cases! I spot several models that I would love to add to my collection…Austin Sheerline, Bentley and Hispano-Suiza woodies, some Bugattis, among others!

In the sheer volume it is almost easy to overlook the quality.
