Coming back to the original Oxford Diecast "Racing Service" version, while the model appears to be based on the modern reproduction, here's a picture of the original. Again, this is from my archive, so I don't know the source, but I did save the file as being from 1963, so it may have been operating for some time before the 1965 article was written.

That nail polish remover will lead to disaster unless it is acetone free! Agree completely!! Acetone free only gents!!!! Acetone can damage paint. You just need to remove the tampo.

That nail polish remover will lead to disaster unless it is acetone free! Can you expand on that a bit please David? Acetone is very corrosive, not only will it take off the tampo print it'll take off the body paint too. Use acetone free nail polish remover. It's widely available.

You’re quite right though as the photo below shows! I’ll take your advice and get some from Boots.

Another interesting outcome from Scott’s Facebook post is this photo. It shows Jim Clark’s #19 Lotus 38 leaving the Cheshunt factory en route to the 1966 Indy 500 where he controversially was placed second to Graham Hill. Al Unser’s #18 car is following out of the gates. Yesterday I spent some time with Scott trying to establish the smaller lettering on the Lotus Components van following Ian’s revelatory photo of the Lotus 23 leaving the 1962 Le Mans. This led to the Google Earth screenshot below of the Delamare Road factory as it is today. The photo above replaces my original which actually showed the building opposite the Lotus factory!

Great pictures Stewart. On a slightly related matter, have you thought about adding Jim Clark's Lotus Elan road car: There seems to be several version of the Elan available in red (Vitesse & Ebbro), but the silver hardtop might be a challenge.

I don’t think so Ian since the article was all written in the future tense “will” “hope that” etc. I had hoped that I could date the photo from the Pepsi bottles!

However I do have an Elan on the way.

Update
Ignore the top row and the bottom two rows. What cars do I need next?

Very impressive! According to Graham Gould, Clark raced a Goggomobile at one point. Not exactly sure when/where in his career, but could inquire. BTW, I sent him links to your forum thread and website.

What about his 1968 Tasman Series winner from down-under: Thanks Ian, keep them coming. It’s in hand. I think there might be some issues about ducting to the brakes to be addressed?
