Yes nice use of photo etch. They also have finally started making decent wire wheels.

Another addition. Colin Chapman seemed inordinately keen on F2, with ultimately tragic consequences. This excellent Spark model fits into the collection. LOTUS 35 F2 COSWORTH SCA Str 4 998cc DOHC JIM CLARK 1965 PAU GP 1st SPARK SF287

Lotus 19…A new project. Jim Clark models are a bit “few and far between”, so I’m using what little ingenuity I have left to create a model of the Arciero Brothers car that he drove brilliantly at Laguna Seca at the end of 1963. Coverage of that race (including video footage) by Peter Windsor has the following link. peterwindsor.com/2013/10/21/at-last-the-arciero-19/I bought this Spark Dan Gurney donor model in a sale from Diecast Legends for £47 and started work on it. Good progress, using a fine polish and Q tip to carefully remove the lacquer, the Sellotape rip removed the #1s (which will be replaced with a similarly oversized #5) and the headlight taping. More work to do, including replacing the rollover arrangement and hopefully using these decals (when finally purchased) to complete the project.

I have found the decals I want for the Jim Clark Lotus 19 on a website in Holland as the screenshot shows. I am struggling to complete the transaction and am hoping a Dutch colleague such as Tom may be able to help. Job Done!
Decals on the way

Austin Healey 3000… Another new project, Jim Clark raced this car at Brands and I need to include it in the collection.

You could use the Spark or IXO Le Mans cars from 1961 or 62 as a basis. K&R Replicas also made a kit.

You could use the Spark or IXO Le Mans cars from 1961 or 62 as a basis. K&R Replicas also made a kit. Thanks Jerry, I bought the Spark #24 car last night on eBay. A Japanese seller, at a surprisingly reasonable price. Prior to that I had somewhat precipitately bought a different Spark item (not DD 300) and a Vitesse version. Both quite reasonably so I can sell them on. Now to remove and replace some decals. I’m fairly happy with that prospect following the success with the Arciero Lotus 19. Below is a link to a review of the book that you feature including some good background material. I’m tempted to get the book. porterpress.co.uk/blogs/news/jim-clark-a-famous-austin-healey-and-racing-diversity-unimaginable-today
