An interesting addition indeed. Great add! I have found Meakit 43 handmade to consistently be average in build quality. I have built a couple of their kits and have found the handbuilts to be no worse than what my own efforts would be. I think when he has to crank out a bunch of orders, build quality suffers. I have a Tojeiro coming that is only available in the SPL range. I know what to expect quality wise, but it's an important link in my Ecurie Ecosse collection and not available otherwise. 😉

Nice looking addition, in spite of the quality issues already mentioned!

Felday BRM continued…. Further to my carping about the quality of the build a further mystery is revealed. When I took the lid off the case I found this loose part rattling around. I’ve contacted GPM and they’ve said if I can’t stick it back on send it to them for repair. That’s all well and good but I don’t know what it is, nor where it has broken off from! I doubt if they will either so I will ask them to contact MEA. Any ideas?

I think it's a cooling vent for the driver. It runs along the inside of the windscreen down through the firewall.
You can barely see it in this shot:

Felday 4 BRM Further to the previous posts re the broken part and advice from alex I am pleased to chronicle the swift and effective response from GP Models and Bruno himself at MEA who provided the following photo which clearly shows the location of the ducting to the engine compartment. Credit is due. I hope to sort this shortly.

Tojeiro Jaguar.
The only time Jim Clark drove this car his American co-driver Maston Gregory stuffed it into the bank! Here we see Jimmy getting his seating sorted out. Work in the pits, possibly during practice. Lining the cars up on the Le Mans style start line, #6 in place. Edgar Barth takes his Porsche past the smouldering remains of #6. So I have to find a kit or a donor car to put this one into the collection. Suggestions please. Jerry?

Stewart, Pinko made a model of the car as driven by Clark and Gregory and Provence Moulage made a kit which could be made into the Goodwood car. This is the Pinko This is the Provence Moulage. It is as run at Le Mans, would be easy to change numbers. Did you know the car was designed from a sketch by Cavendish Morton the Scottish artist noted for his seascapes? They did not have any detail drawings, just worked from the sketch to make the body. He also was never paid for it (£25) until Graham Gauld found out about it while writing his book on Ecurie Ecosse in the early 90's. Graham, one of the principals of the EE revival paid him. 😁

Thanks Jerry btw those photos I posted were from this extensive archive. www.johnrossmotorracingarchive.co.uk/index.php?Earlier today I passed those photos and the link to the archive on to Martin Krejki of Racing Sports Cars who is always looking for photos to add to his excellent website. He seemed hopeful of using the John Ross archive. I also gave him a link to modelscale143.

Whilst trying to solve the ducting mystery I came across this interesting article on the “Britmodeller” website. Fascinating. www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235092366-143-felday-4-brm-jim-clark-brands-hatch-1966/

Not a D Type, but you have it labeled correctly. 😉 Excellent add! Mine is winging it's way across the Atlantic, hope to have next week. 😀
