I think you will like Graham's book Stewart. As a good friend of Clark's, he was probably the best person to write his autobiography. Clark picked him to do it and Graham originally declined, but Clark prevailed to our benefit. He has written two other books on Clark which are also great reads. Now 87 years young, Graham recently moved to Cornwall, maybe you're neighbors?

Thanks Jerry, Certainly an excellent Writer/Journalist. It would be quite something to meet him in Cornwall but I won’t be pushing that.

Fantastic models. A Lotus 25 was my first GP car model and I have a soft spot for it.

Fantastic models. A Lotus 25 was my first GP car model and I have a soft spot for it. Really pleased to get a genuine 1964 Lotus 25 rather than have to research and/or re-decal a 1963 car. The Lotus 18 is significant also because it was his first World Championship podium.

I needed to get a 1962 Clark Lotus 25 into the collection because I had somewhat hastily sold my Spark model of his Dutch GP car. They are very hard to find now at anything like a sensible price. Actually I wasn’t too happy with the Spark model since it had black hub centres whereas most photos indicated the traditional yellow wobbly wheels. Anyway…this is what I came up with. LOTUS 25 #1 CLIMAX FWMV 1.5L V8 JIM CLARK 1962 RAND GP 1st BRUMM R331 This is actually Brumm’s model of his 1963 Spa car but it fits the bill I think. A bit sneaky, but needs must, especially at £25.

This is mine, from the PW series. The green is darker in reality

Your Clark collection is developing quickly Stewart. The Lotus make a great grouping.

Your Clark collection is developing quickly Stewart. The Lotus make a great grouping. Thanks Ian. It’s resulted from my Scottish Drivers collection but is something that I should have started years ago in the same vein as my Stirling Moss collection. Interestingly their careers barely overlapped. 1961 was that overlap World Championship season in which Moss finished third with 21 points and Clark 7th with 11. Moss at the height of his powers, but with privateer machinery, Clark learning his trade in works cars. I am looking to collect some of Jim Clark’s early cars such as DKWs, Triumphs, Sunbeam Talbots, Austin Healeys and Goggomobils! I am assisted in this venture by one of our members, alfaromeo179.

Another addition…. This will replace the Quartzo built Ford promotional model that I bought back in 2014. I quite liked it since it didn’t have a naff driver figure. The Yellow stripe is way off though. The Spark figures, whilst not welcome, are at least acceptable.

Does the driver look a little undersized? Nice model regardless

The collection to date on the middle two rows. At the top is what’s left of my Lotus collection, at the bottom a nascent collection of “Favourites”. Below are close ups
