From what I'm reading in the WEC press I fear this team's days are numbered. It will be a big shame if they do not continue as sportscar racing needs teams like this. However, rose tinted spectacles or not I'm so pleased I ordered these models. Nice add Ian.

I liked that khaki-coloured Porsche! Looks menacing, pity about the misfortune during qualifications, but at least they managed to finish! On a side note, I just finished reading my book on EB110 and even though I am not into racing, it was rather interesting to read about the development of their Le Mans car and all the events that took place resulting in DNF. The idea of not finishing after such efforts is painful..

If I were collecting modern Le Mans cars, I would add this one for the Briscoe connection if nothing else. I enjoyed watching him in Indycar. Nice add! I think I have a bit of a man-crush on Ryan Briscoe Jerry. This is the 5th car of his I have in my collection, and there will soon be a 6th when his 2021 Glickenhaus arrives (strangely the 2022 cars have arived ahead of the 2021 cars). There are many reasons to add this one, not least the fact that it is a good looking racer. Even without the Briscoe connection I would have added this Martin. A nice looking red car and 3rd place on the podium make it quite desirable. I was happy when they did so well, I like Glickenhaus as the underdog challenging the top team. Superb model. Agreed Tom. There was always that little bit of hope right up to the chequered flag that the Toyota's might run into problems and Glickenhaus would take an unlikely win.
The model is very well done, so much so that QR codes on the rear wing endplate From what I'm reading in the WEC press I fear this team's days are numbered. Yes, its a concern Paul. To be fair, they realise that the car needs an upgrade to be competitive, and they don't just want to run at the back of the class making up the numbers. I hope they can find some backing to get the car back towards the front of the field again.
If they don't, I'll be glad I have models of their cars to represent their time at Le Mans as I'm sure you will.

Obviously every Le Mans has many tales of woe, it's never clear if its more painful to retire in the first hour or retire in the last hour.

The Glicknhaus is a nice looking racer Agreed Paul. With the P4 inspired shape, red paint and gold wheels it was very reminiscent of a Ferrari before we saw them return to Le Mans.

Ok, time to give the modern cars a bit of a break and head back to 1994. After Mazda won Le Mans in 1991, there was a popular perception that rotary engines were banned. However, the arrival of this rotary powered RX-7 in 1994 shows that this was not the case. Highly modified RX-7s competed at Le Mans from 1979 to 1982, but it was in IMSA racing in the United States that RX-7s really made their mark. Here the RX-7 scored an unmatched 100 wins in just 12 years of IMSA competition. The final version of the IMSA RX-7 was this fearsome four-rotor, 640bhp ‘Fabcar’ spaceframe that ran in the 1990 and 1991 IMSA GTO championship. It won four races in 1991 on the way to taking the driver’s and manufacturer’s championships. In 1994, the ACO decided to introduce GT classes for the classic 24 hours race. For a short time, they also allowed the IMSA GTS class to compete, and it was on this basis that the RX-7 GTO appeared at Le Mans where it was joined by its long-dated IMSA rival from US: Cunningham Racing’s Nissan 300ZX-GTS Turbo. Driven by ex-Mazda’s Group C legendary factory driver Yojiro Terada and French duo Franck Fréon and Pierre de Thoisy, the RX-7 GTO qualified in 20th position. However, from the start they lost six positions and at the end of the first hour it was running in 26th position. However, it recovered strongly and by the end of the sixth hour it was running in 11th position. By the mid-point of the race, the Mazda had inexplicably dropped back to 18th place. It then improved one position to 17th place by the 18th hour, before eventually coming home 15th overall, from 22 cars which saw the checked flag, losing the race for IMSA honours to the #75 Nissan 300 ZX which finished 12th. The Mazda eventually returned to USA and was restored again. Since 2011, the car has been seen in several historic events where it is run by Mazda North America. Car : 1994 #74 Mazda RX7 GTOTeam : Team Artnature Drivers : Yojiro Terada (J)/ Franck Fréon (F)/ Pierre de Thoisy (F) Qualifying : 20th Result : 15th Model : TSM (TSM430190)

Catching up here The 488 is rather nice and very bright. If i come across one it may find its way here The 911 is different, almost camouflage green and it doesnt do it any favours to my eyes Glickenhuas is to be found in my collection and is ace Mazda really rather special he says as he goes looking for one!

The Mazda does look very racy and the wide body has a lot to do with that.

I think I may have seen that car run at Road America a few years back. It looks very familiar. I know it was a early 90's Rx-7 and my ears are still ringing! Nice add!

The colours on the Mazda are beautiful. I have always had a soft spot for an RX7, mainly due to a certain Canadian-Australian driver!

That looks fantastic and I love the model! I might not be able to resist that myself... There are two options Tom. Aside from the TSM version I showed, there also a slightly less detailed version from the Hatchette "Spark" series which is potentially from the same casting. On eBay, the Hatchette version is selling for almost as much as the TSM, but you might be able to get one cheaper. Great looking Mazda and great livery on the Porsche. Thanks Will. I didn't these would appeal to you, so interesting you like them. Another piece of Le Mans history not to missed. Excellent addition Ian. Thanks Paul. I have quite a variety of Mazda's in my collection, so this is quite a welcome addition. Catching up here The 488 is rather nice and very bright. Hope you can find the Mazda and the Ferrari Andy.
I actually quite like the Porsche - it went straight on my wanted list as soon as I saw it before the race. But as they say, variety is the spice of life.
The Mazda does look very racy and the wide body has a lot to do with that. Indeed Jeff. There's no missing the IMSA dna. I think I may have seen that car run at Road America a few years back. It looks very familiar. I know it was a early 90's Rx-7 and my ears are still ringing! Nice add! Apparently Mazda have two body sets for the car Jerry. In some cases they run it in their Le Mans livery shown here, and at other times they run it in its earlier IMSA livery. I wonder if TSM will do the IMSA version as well. Thanks Paul. It's highly recommended. The colours on the Mazda are beautiful. I have always had a soft spot for an RX7, mainly due to a certain Canadian-Australian driver! Rest assured Martin, this one will accompany an earlier '82 RX-7 in my collection from Mr Moffat.
