These Look Smart 488s are superb, and this one is hard to take your eyes off. To answer your thread's question, with this one I would say, very much so!
It's interesting to see that one of the car's drivers, Mikkel Jensen, has jumped from a 488 GTE car straight into Hypercar with Peugeot.

I wasn't able to watch a lot of the race in '21 but this one stood out. Excellent model too. The 'Car Guy' Ferraris have been very eye-catching Tom. Unfortunately the often haven't had much luck. I was in two minds about adding this one Martin, but its really growing on me and now that I've recovered from the cost, its really growing on me and I'm really glad I got it.
I wonder if we'll see Scott Andrews in a prototype in the future.
It’s a new one on me and that is a beauty Glad you like it Paul. When I first looked at this 488 I throught no rear wing thats odd! The yellow being so bright distracted me. Nice addition Ian I had the same thought when I saw my photos Paul. The rear wing almost looks like an afterthought.

Sticking with my ‘Aussies @ Le Mans’ theme, a car that I thought might have been featured here on the forum but hasn’t is this Porsche 911 RSR from Le Mans in 2022. The Porsche was a brand new chassis entered for Australian Porsche works driver Matt Campbell, who’s role was to coach Irish-German actor Michael Fassbender, who was making his Le Mans debut. Fassbender is the recipient of various acting accolades, including nominations for two Academy Awards, four BAFTA Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. Depending on your interests, he is best known for his roles as the Marvel Comics supervillain Magneto in the X-Men franchise between 2011 and 2016, and for his portrayal of Steve Jobs in the 2015 movie of the same name. Fassbender began racing in the Ferrari Challenge in 2017. In 2018, he ran the full Ferrari Challenge North America schedule, winning the season opener at Daytona International Speedway and finishing fifth in the standings. Fassbender then moved to Porsche in 2019, competing in the German Porsche Racing Experience where he was the subject of a YouTube series by Porsche, called Road to Le Mans. The following year, he joined Proton Competition for the full 2020 European Le Mans Series. Fassbender made his debut at Le Mans in 2022 in this Porsche he shared with Matt Campbell and Zacharie Robichon, his Irish roots inspiring the eye-catching matte green and orange livery. Unfortunately, in qualifying, Fassbender spun out of control and crashed into the barriers near the braking point of the Hunaudieres straight at high speed. This landed the Proton Porsche at the bottom of the qualifying timings and they were classified 22nd out of 23 cars in GTE-AM. The Porsche was able to be rebuilt in time for the race and start from 60th position on the grid. The Porsche took the rolling start with Matt Campbell at the wheel for the first stint and he gained two places before handing over to Fassbender after ~50 minutes. Over the next two hours, the Porsche lost four places. Over the remainder of the race, the #93 Porsche 911 RSR floated along three to five places off the back of the grid. While it never troubled the class leaders, retirements saw the #93 Porsche 911 RSR slowly improve its position throughout the race. At the halfway mark it was running in 58th position, before taking the chequered flag in 51st position. Car : 2022 #93 Porsche 911 (991) RSR Team : Proton Competition Drivers : Matt Campbell (AUS)/ Michael Fassbender (IRL)/ Zacharie Robichon (CAN) Qualifying : 60th Result : 51th Model : Spark (S8654)

Nice one. If "we" (i.e. the Australian Press) take our F1 Blinkers off, Matt Campbell has perhaps been our most successful driver on the international stage in recent years. I know he has an LMDh gig in IMSA but I would really like to see him in the Hypercar class in the WEC.
This car had to come home to you and I doff my slouch hat to you!
As a side note, having just finished watching the 6H of Monza, I am really going top miss the GTE cars when they get replaced by GT3 in the WEC next year. Be it Ferrari, Porsche, Aston, Corvette, etc., they are proper GT racers.

I don't think some of the Porsche drivers performed all that well, so maybe there will be a rethink for next year. Cool livery, nice model! It's an unusual livery Julio and I have nothing else like it in my collection, so that was an added bonus. I think some collectors are overlooking this model because of its results Tom. But as I said above, its quite a unique livery and it wasn't repeated this year so for the moment it remains a one-off which I like.

While we’re on a roll with Australian drivers at Le Mans, here’s another recent Aussie addition from the 2022 race. Ryan Briscoe was born in Sydney, Australia in 1981, though having spent much of the past 20 years racing for American based teams he became a naturalized American citizen in 2018. Briscoe has proved to be a genuine old school style racer who likes racing anything with four wheels. Who else can claim to have driven Formula 1 cars, Indycars, the A1 Grand Prix cars, Le Mans & ALMS prototypes and GT’s and Australian Supercars. Along the way, he’s qualified on pole at the Indianapolis 500; taken eight Indycar wins, scored multiple class wins at Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans; and won the 24 Hours of Daytona outright. With this car, Briscoe also added an outright Le Mans podium to his impressive racing resume. At the age of 40, Briscoe signed with Glickenhaus Racing for their debut season in the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship with the 3.5 litre V8 Glickenhaus 007 LMH. With his team mates Richard Westbrook and Romain Dumas, they qualified 5th at Le Mans and went on to finish in 5th place in the race on their way to finishing the championship in 6th place. In 2022, Briscoe continued racing for Glickenhaus. Once again, he was partnered by Richard Westbrook, though Romain Dumas was replaced by Franck Mailleux. With the Glickenhaus 007 LMH being more sorted, they enjoyed a more successful season. Their 2022 Le Mans campaigned kicked off by qualifying 4th overall. For the first hour of the race the #709 Glickenhaus maintained 4th position, but in the second hour a faulty engine sensor required a lengthy pit stop for replacement which dropped it 5 places to 9th position. However, by the 4th hour the #709 Glickenhaus had reclaimed 4th position, running behind the sister #708 car. When the #708 had an off-track excursion in the 8th hour, the #709 Glickenhaus moved up to 3rd position. While the Glickenhaus couldn’t match the pace of the leading Toyotas which ran like clockwork, the #709 maintained 3rd position for the next 17 hours to take a comfortable podium position, 5 laps behind the winning Toyotas, but 5 laps ahead of its sister car. Car : 2022 #709 Glickenhaus 007 LMHTeam : Glickenhaus Racing Drivers : Ryan Briscoe (AUS)/ Richard Westbrook (GBR) / Franck Mailleux (F) Qualifying : 4th Result : 3rd Model : Spark (S8614)

If I were collecting modern Le Mans cars, I would add this one for the Briscoe connection if nothing else. I enjoyed watching him in Indycar. Nice add!

There are many reasons to add this one, not least the fact that it is a good looking racer.

I was happy when they did so well, I like Glickenhaus as the underdog challenging the top team. Superb model.
