Great-looking car, shame it went up in flames. Superb model as is to be expected from Looksmart. Thankfully we don't see that very often these days Tom (though for a few minutes it looked like the #3 Cadillac was going to burn to the ground in qualifying at Le Mans last week). I would be very jealous if I didn’t already have it. These Look Smart 250s are wonderful. It's a bit of indulgence to have all three 250 P's Martin, but I knew you'd approve! Lovely addition. Strikes me that there are no longer any trees in that part of the circuit. Just acres of gravel Interestingly, I heard during the Le Mans commentary this weekend that most of the trees at Le Mans have only grown since the end of the war when the area was flattened. Some parts of the track probably look more like they did in 1949 today than in the 1960's! A great looking and important car with a superb model of it. Yeah, very happy with it Jeff. Another great Le Mans memory.

Here is my second acquisition from the new local source. It’s a car I’ve wanted for a long time for my ‘Art Car’ sub-theme, but it seems to be one of the harder to find Fujimi Ferrari 458’s. Needless to say I was very happy to find this locally at its original price. Starting in 2009, JMW Motorsport and their major sponsor Dunlop ran a competition to select a livery for their Le Mans entries. From 2009 to 2011, the selected liveries had a strong Dunlop ‘corporate’ feel, but for the 2012 competition, the judges were less prescriptive with their brief and indicated they were looking for a more artistic rendition than in previous years. There were 175 entrants who offered designs for the Dunlop-sponsored JMW Motorsport Ferrari F458. The winning design came from Lithuanian Egidijus Guzauskas, whose prize winning work ‘Speed Rhythm’ was based on black tyre treads over the Dunlop yellow bodywork, with the impression of speed being replicated by the illusion of wet paint being seen to ‘run’ across the car. For his efforts, Egidijus Guzauskas received €1,000 as well as tickets and corporate hospitality for the race so he could see his design come to life. The #66 “Dunlop” Ferrari was one of nine Ferrari 458’s entered at Le Mans in 2012, four in the GTE Pro class and the other five in GTE Am class. James Walker, Jonny Cocker and Roger Wills qualified the Dunlop sponsored Ferrari 8th in the GTE Pro class which put it 48th overall on the starting grid. Their race pace was good and they managed to jump 11 places in the first three hours. After six hours they were running 37th, and by the midpoint of the race they were up to 33rd position. They peaked at 29th position in the 15th hour, before having to abandon the race when they suffered gearbox failure after 204 laps. Car : 2012 #66 Ferrari 458 GTCTeam : JMW Motorsport Drivers : James Walker (GB) /Jonny Cocker (GB)/ Roger Wills (NZ) Qualifying : 48th Result : 41st (DNF) Model : Fujimi (FJM13433003)

I think that livery highlights the design of the Ferrari, makes it pop. Nice add!

I agree, the livery elevates it. Great to find a rare model at a good price!

A JMW Motorsports model is always a welcome addition to a collection, especially this one. Nice.

I think that livery highlights the design of the Ferrari, makes it pop. Nice add! As you say Jerry, the design 'pops'. I don't think I have anything else like it in my collection. Cool looking livery! Nice model! Thanks Julio. The back story makes me wish I'd submitted a few of my own design ideas for the livery competitions. I agree, the livery elevates it. Great to find a rare model at a good price! I think I got this for about half the going rate of eBay, so I was pretty happy Tom. A JMW Motorsports model is always a welcome addition to a collection, especially this one. Nice. JMW's Ferraris during the Dunlop era were not only eye-catching, but often quite successful as well Paul. As a result, this becomes the 7th JMW car to join my collection.
A very good find sir and a great model to boot. Win win Thanks Andy. Win-win indeed. Another one we share - this guy was a great discovery. Probably not the last model we'll share Martin. I need to go back and check his stock again, though funds are a low after CK's Le Mans sale this weekend.

Nice to see that a fellow Lithuanian won this competition, I liked the artwork back in the day and it still looks good today. Wonder where he spent the money (probably not buying modelcars.. )

Wonder where he spent the money (probably not buying modelcars.. ) I did wonder if anyone presented him with a model of the car Paulius? In fact, I wonder if he even knows the model exists? BBR did a really nice 1:18 version on a leather base. Hopefully he spent some of his Euro 1000 on that.

Work and social commitments have largely kept me away from the forum for two weeks, so I’m a bit late showing my latest acquisitions. Some of them have been shown by others, but not this one. The ‘Car Guy’ Ferrari run by owner/driver Takeshi Kamura has appeared at Le Mans regularly since 2019, but to date I’d hadn’t had a reason to add one of their fluorescent yellow cars to my collection. Fortunately, that changed when Australian Scott Andrews signed with the team for the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans. Andrews is an Australian racing driver who was part of the team that won the LMP3 class at 24 Hours of Daytona in 2021. He has since gone on the contest the Michelin Le Mans Cup with United Autosports. Born 25 August 1990 in Geelong, he was raised by (Aged 32). He grew up watch his father drag race motorbikes and by the age of 10, Scott was on track himself and getting competitive on the karting scene. According to his father, Paul Andrews, his beginnings were humble. “We bought an old go-kart, went out, did the father-and-son thing for a few years,” Paul said. In 2015, a stellar season saw Scott win both the Formula Ford 1600 Australia Bathurst championship and the F1600 Formula F Championship Series. The following year, he added the prestigious Walter Hayes trophy to his collection, with a win at the annual Formula Ford race in Silverstone. Rather than focusing of Australia’s domestic touring car scene, Scott looked overseas and he raced with United Autosports stepping in for two LMP3 races in the 2018 European Le Mans Series where he achieved a win at Spa-Francorchamps and third place in Portimao. In 2021, he signed with Car Guy team owner Takeshi Kamura to join Mikkel Jensen in the #57 Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GTE Evo in the GTE AM class of the Le Mans series, making his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year. In qualifying they took 7th place in the GTE AM class of 23 entries, which put them 46th on the starting grid.
They showed further pace in the race, gaining 13th positions in the first 7 hours to rise as high as 33rd overall. They hovered around this position for the next two hours, but a problem in the 10th hour saw them tumble down the order after an off-track excursion after Tertre Rouge. This ultimately saw the car retire with engine problems, though it was over 10 hours before the retirement was made official. Car : 2021 #57 Ferrari 488 GTE EvoTeam : Kessel Racing Drivers : Scott Andrews (AUS)/ Mikkel Jensen (DNK)/ Takeshi Kimura (JPN) Qualifying : 46th Result : 52th (DNF – Engine) Model : Looksmart (LSLM126)

I wasn't able to watch a lot of the race in '21 but this one stood out. Excellent model too.
