I immediately thought of the 2010 Morgan V8 Aeromax sports coupe. Ford is one heck of a truck!

Some new show and tell items. When I was leaving the British car show last weekend, I stopped by a vendor booth selling Vanguards models at a low price (compared to English e-bay sellers), so I bought two. Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr 1971 Cortina GLX and 1965 Transit. The reason for allowing one more early Transit into my collection is that this is a replica of the earliest know surviving Transit which it is owned by Ford's Heritage Collection at Dagenham. As for the GXL, I like it in the Maize Yellow, and these are hard (maybe impossible) to find at a reasonable price, so even though I recently bought one, I bought another. I skirted that vendor at Vancouver and miraculously came away without any model purchases, which was a new first! 😆 I was looking for a early 90's XJ6, but didn't see one.
I see plenty of possibilities in that Ford truck!

The GEC Transit brings back memories of a friend who when I met him circa 1974 worked for them and his work van was a Transit as per the model. He had (I assume) permission to use it privately so I rode in it quite a lot including when he took a few of us from SE London to the Santa Pod drag racing track which was about 70 miles each way. I recall that I woke up with an awful headache the following day, not sure if that was from watching the racing or travelling in the back of a fairly noisy van! By the way Michael Ford are relocating their Heritage Collection from Dagenham to Daventry which is in the Midlands of England. I think it may be that they have a better building there and will be able to display some of the vehicles although I'm not sure if the public will be able to visit. I have visited the Dagenham building with a friend who looks after their Consul/Zephyr/Zodiac. They did want me to take my very early original Anglia 105E there so they could have a look at it but sadly we never got around to it and I have now moved away from the area.

Nice models, both the Transit and Cortina and the Cargo.

The Transit and the Cargo both make me wish I had them.

Must be very gratifying to add that model to your collection. Great that Autocult tackles these odd subjects.

It looks very Germanic and of the period. At first I was thinking it was smaller, but the photo of the car and occupants shows its size. Very interesting add to you Ford museum!

I was reading up on this car a little while ago. It's a pity Ford didn't bring it out to compete after the war, as I could see it being very useful at long distance endurance events like Le Mans and Spa. Maybe it was lost during the war? Even if its not perfect its great that Autocult have modelled this piece of history.
