Partwork models have now become the standard IMO, their quality is so good that for many themes you could collect only PW models and have a superb display. They also offer amazing VFM. I can't recall seeing the real thing but the model is great, with excellent detail. EDIT: searching for a source for your book recommendation gave me this. I've seen some footage on tv and it looks like an interesting subject.

That truck is gorgeous and I don't think there could be a better livery for it.

X10 all of the above! That BIG Ford was a fun sight on our expressways when I was a kid! If these modern partworks were more readily available in the US as a low price, I would need a bigger house...or warehouse

Michael, thumbs up on the new addition! I have that truck as well, they are very nice! I also have Shelby decals to make it a West Coast truck if you are interested. Let me know and I can pop some in the mail.

I'm not going to repost 47 pages of recent arrivals from the old site, but I am going to pick out a select group of photos that bring back the excitement of unboxing a new purchase. Recent Arrivals by Vangaurds by IFHP97, on Flickr 105E Ford Anglia, Mk III Ford Zephyr 6, Mk II Ford Escort RS Mexico, Mk IV Ford Cortina 2.0 S, Mk II Ford Granada 2.3 L. Model T Van by Corgi by IFHP97, on Flickr Normally I avoid die-cast versions of antique cars with brass colored spokes in their wheels. However I made and exception for this circa 1915 Ford Model T van by Corgi which was issued for Ford of Britain's 75th anniversary in 1986. Mishap in the Sky. Has this ever happen to you? I was able to glue the model back together. Recent Arrivals by IFHP97, on Flickr Some e-bay purchases from the past few weeks. Two from the James Bond series (Universal Hobbies?), three from the Altaya World Taxi series, two other Altaya Simcas (which are nearly identical to Ford models). The 2002 Focus RS is by IXO and is pretty special, originally being a special order project for Tickford. 1962 Ford Mustang 1 concept car by Automodello I had to swallow hard to pay the asking price for this model, but in the ended decided to go with it because of its historic significance. Ford Mustang 1 by Automodello by IFHP97, on Flickr Been on a bit of a binge. On Saturday four separate internet purchases arrived. I had to honor the event with an elaborate diorama. Recent Arrivals by IFHP97, on Flickr Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr Ford Of Europe has switched from Minichamps to Norev as their promotional model provider. The first Norev Ford promotional was the B-Max, now followed up by the new Mondeo 5-door and Mustang GT. Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr Granada 2.8 Injection by Vanguards, Taunus 2.0 GL Turnier by Neo, Sierra RS Cosworth by Auto Ary, and Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth by Vanguards. Trax offered a "Yuletide Special" Buy four diecast 1:43 scale models for AU $25.00 apiece and they throw in a resin Holden Trax for free. I don't really have any use for the Holden Trax, but now I have one. Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr AU Falcon XR8 by Biante, 2016 Focus RS by Norev and XY Falcon GT by Auto Art. Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr Wow! I have friend in Brazil who has been sending me examples of Planeta DeAgostini's "Incredible Cars of Brazil" partwork series. After a long dry spell, these eight models arrived this month. They are: 1963 Willys Jeep CJ-5, 1965-66 Aero-Willys, 1969-70 Ford Itamaraty, 1968-70 Chrysler Esplanada, 1973-74 Chevrolet Opala, 1975-77 Ford Corcel police car (part of a new "Service Vehicles of Brazil" series),1987-91 Ford Pampa, and 1990 Ford Escort XR3 1.8. I'll post more photos and descriptions of these models in the South American model thread. Backlog of Recent Arrivals Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr I'm doing some home improvements/reorganizing and don't really have time to open these July purchases or a place to put them at the moment -- but I'm looking forward to the time when I can. This is a combination of e-bay finds and an over exuberant visit to the American Excellence (MCW) website. Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr 1968 Ford Country Squire by BoS, 1964 Ford Custom 500 Taxi by WhiteBox, and 1969 Ford Escort 1100 by Vangaurds. Ford Cortina Twin Cam (1969) by Corgi Vanguards by Michael, on Flickr Ford Cortina Twin Cam (1969) by Corgi Vanguards. This model is based on the car that was built for Colin Chapman, which I saw in the metal in 2003.

A fine selection of vehicles many of which as an English person I am very familiar with. I have quite a few of those shown but wish I could get that Ford Goodyear truck. Somewhere I do have an AMT 1/43 kit that I bought years ago though.
Yesterday while at a race meeting for old cars I saw a 1972 Consul L 2.5 V6, it is incredibly rare and looked and sounded gorgeous. Sadly I didn't get a photo of it.

Shame that Neo didn't do their research well. As you say, very nice otherwise.

New Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr Shipped from Premium Collectibles Trading, three IXO model Fords, Aeromax, Taunus GXL and Escort GL. Arrived from Macau in just under a week. I was shocked. Recent Arrivals by Michael, on Flickr That all three model are in the red spectrum is pure coincidence. The thing about ordering from the IXO website is the the prices are excellent, provided that you meet the minimum purchase of $75- to qualify for free shipping. Otherwise the there is no savings. What I really wanted was the Aeromax, and I bought the Taunus and Escort to qualify for free shipping. The Taunus and Escort are based on part-work models that I already have, but the are noticeably nicer. Ford Aeromax by IXO by Michael, on Flickr This is the first IXO big rig that I've seen come in a plexiglass jewel case. Ford Taunus GXL by IXO by Michael, on Flickr The 2300 badge on the side gives this away as the Argentine version of this car. Ford Taunus GXL by IXO by Michael, on Flickr Ford Taunus GXL by IXO by Michael, on Flickr Ford Escort GL by IXO by Michael, on Flickr Ford Escort GL by IXO by Michael, on Flickr Ford Aeromax by IXO by Michael, on Flickr Something is not quite right with the chassis skirting on the right side. I wonder if I can fix it? BTW, according to Wikipedia, the chassis skirting was unique to the 1992-95 models. Ford Aeromax by IXO by Michael, on Flickr

Very nice. I was looking forward to that Escort but I feel that the shape is off, notably in the front end. Decided not to get the -atmittedly nicer- Ixo. I have the Taunus and I like it.
