Yesterday two very different models arrived. Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton (1928) by Rio by Michael, on Flickr First up is this 1928 Lincoln Sport Phaeton by Rio. I've looked at this model for years on e-bay, but never bit because it seemed too toy like. I finally bought it this month because Ford is celebrating 100 years of ownership of Lincoln and I really "need" a 1920s Lincoln to do a decent tribute. Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton (1928) by Rio by Michael, on Flickr It would be nice if this model looked more like the 1:1 below. I think I've got it all off now. Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton (1928) by Rio by Michael, on Flickr These wheels are crying out to be painted like the 1:1 pictured above. Also, I see that the white walls can be taken off.

T-Bolt is really something, one of my favorite Fords.

For an ancient Rio the Lincoln looks quite good. I really like the Fairlane.

It’s amazing to think that Rio models were once among the best you could have! Nevertheless, I feel that they retain a certain charm!

Love the model. I remember building the model and the car from car magazines back in the day. I was happy to see one at the Brothers Collection in Salem, Oregon not too long ago. Model looks collection worthy!

That’s very nice! It reminded me of some of the Canadian Fords!

That’s very nice! It reminded me of some of the Canadian Fords! Indeed. The grille is borrowed from the 1955 Meteor and the side trim is from the 1956 Meteor. At the time Ford of Australia was a subsidiary of Ford of Canada.

I've never seen that before but it screams '50s. Great-looking model.

Agree 100% with Tom. Could only be from the 50s. Nice add.

Great looking model Michael, but I can’t imagine too many Aussie blokes in the 50’s ordering a pink car.
