What strange decisions. The headlights look OK in a Brooklin kind of way if they catch the light but I wonder why they went for this after making their other models with realistic resin headlight lenses. Also those grill bars would've been easy to fix (in fact you could do it yourself using a permanent marker). Agree on the wheel trims.
Other than that it's a very nice model as we've come to expect from Goldvarg.

Oh, and here is a photo of the length of this model compared to the 1966 Cyclone and 1963 Fairlane. In reality, both of those cars were bigger than the original Comet. Annoying, but not quite as noticeable as the headlights and grill. I'd guesstimate that between one third and half of my 1:43s is either under or overscale. If you include incorrect proportions, you're looking at 80+ % of my collection.

The CMR is clearly superior in shape to the Bang. Good upgrade!

A new Goldvarg model to my collection. Ford Galaxie 500/XL (1962) by Goldvarg by Michael, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie 500/XL Ford Galaxie 500/XL (1962) by Goldvarg by Michael, on Flickr I am very happy with it. Well proportions and detailed. Ford Galaxie 500/XL (1962) by Goldvarg by Michael, on Flickr Looks good from a distance, but on closer inspection the grille is a 2-D printed piece. This seems to be a new practice with resin model builders, Trax is doing it too. Unlike the 1961 Comet, the headlights are fully developed. Nice model, great colour. Looks like the badge says Galaxy 500 XL.

Nice model, great colour. Looks like the badge says Galaxy 500 XL. It is pretty stylized script, but it is spelled "Galaxie". Goldvarg also produces this model in a two-tone pale blue and white. I like it too, but I chose the "Chestnut" because to my mind the single color is more representative of this car.

That's what I typed, but I didn't notice autocorrect had changed it.

Lovely looking model! My grandparents had two 1962 Fords, a 4 door and a station wagon!
